"Give him the chance to find a new home"

What do you think Carlton tried to do all the way through trade week?

FUnny story and I believe it. He wasnt overly liked at the club, no time for a lot of people and as a result a lot of people dont have time for him.

Why??? I'm pretty sure that wasn't excess water under that skin. Or maybe he really wants to be a jockey, or come down to the heavyweight division.

Will this thread be moved to Talking AFL if he is drafted?

Oh look!

Another leak.

Interest from two clubs, more tests for Whitnall
Quote:
Whitnall met with Carlton coach Brett Ratten and the club's football manager Steven Icke last Friday before the Blues pair departed for an overseas trip that night. After receiving the medical advice that he would not be able to train at a sufficient level next season, Whitnall, according to the Blues, was given the chance to go away and consider the option of a graceful retirement.

Icke, in the United Kingdom yesterday with Ratten to investigate the sports science and development programs at English soccer club Manchester United, indicated the club was comfortable with the medical diagnosis provided to Carlton on Whitnall.

Ratten and Icke will visit officials from Aston Villa as well as the coach of Italian club Juventus, Claudio Ranieri, formerly manager of English giant Chelsea, later this week.

if Lance believes he still can play, then simple, follow the footsteps of Morrell and go play a year with the Ants, and see what u can come up with, otherwise its a real shame to see people here make fun of him...he is a champion of the club, When are we supporters ever going to learn to appreciate what players had done to us in the past?

there is nothing ugly than seeing people personally attack a player and make fun of them , footy might be a business these days, but Carlton does not backstab the people that once made it what it is today :(

Maybe Nixon can convince the Bulldogs or Tigers to recruit Whitnall so they can put him on their Long Term Injury list.

Nixon was on "The Back Page" on Fox last night spinning his story. Came of looking like a real tosser I thought and someone you'd never trust in a million years.
Would've burnt a few bridges at Carlton with his conduct of the last few days Id've thought.

I think we are missing the big story here. Lance is perfect for one Melbourne club, the Filth. Rocca is injury prone these days and with Buckley and Clement retiring has to shoulder extra responsibility. Imagine Lance and Rocca on the same forward line. 2 out of condition, slow as treacle, man mountains, both based within 10m of the goal square. It'll be an unbeatable combo.

Do it Collingwood, Do it

There is nothing worse than a player (and his manager) taking the mickey out of the club...

Time for Lance to get real....

It is inconceivable that anyone would be thinking about picking Lance. Even at bargain basement prices he wouldn't add enough to a team for it to be worth it.

His injury will hamper him at his age more than it would many others because of his size and weight.
