B: Thornton Jamison Anderson
HB: Scotland S. O'hAilplin Walker
C: Gibbs (VC) Carrazzo Simpson (VC)
HF: Houlihan Waite Murphy (VC)
FF: Hampson/Betts Fevola Fisher (VC)
R: A. O'hAiplin Judd (VC) Stevens (C)

Int: Russell Cloke Bower Hadley

Pros:
- Speed along the spine and throughout the set of talls
- Probably the only midfield in the comp to boast two supremely athletic mids (Walker & Judd)
- Good level of footskills through the midfield rotation

Cons:
- Just as tall as we were, and if we were to select Kreuzer and try and fit him in it would likely be ridiculous, however we play possession football so the marking power is welcome
- Eddie still has no competition for his role up forward
- Our two best midfielders are arguably our two worst marking mids (Judd & Stevens)
- Still lacking raw speed through the middle (what happens when the ball hits the ground??); onus should be on releasing Judd & Walker whenever possible
- Inexperienced (but talented) back six, and still robbing Peter to pay Paul for the HBFs (can't really fit them in elsewhere and most forward set-ups will feature 4 permanent fixtures)
- Inexperienced (but talented) ruck division
- While footskills are strong through the smaller players, when they're bad they can be pretty bad (Carrazzo, Walker, Anderson)

Probably our best line-up with a bit of form under their belts.

We say it every year but: definitely some competition for spots. :P

Just about no one has considered Saddington/Bano/Big Red/Wiggins in their best 22.
I think it's really clear that they will struggle for a game next year (maybe not Whitnall), with the likes of Hadley / Russel/ Blackwell/ Bentick/ Jackson/ Bower / Kreuzeur/ Cloke / Austin (amoungst others) being the main players contesting for a spot in the 22.

Hence, what is the point of keeping all of them on the list? I just think there is enough competition already and I will be really pissed off if a spot in the best 22 is given to a player like Banno/Wiggins instead of Grigg/Russell

*shrug*

Time for Aisake to stand up!! Hampson to push for selection if either don't perform.

Let's give the Kruez some time, I'd expect him to get a run later in the year through injuries.

Apparently Ackland was up for trade, but nobody was offering more than a 12th rounder for him ... he's worth at least a pick in the high 160s.

thanks for that.... the team is starting to get harder to make the 22, which is a good sign.

Fair point, but playing youngsters in the first every week is not always the best way to go about development. They can still learn things in the VFL, 'specially blokes like Aisake, Hampson, Austin, Anderson who aren't at the same lofty levels of freaks like Gibbs and Murph.

in light of Lance's departure, and the inclusion of Hadley. I'll put in my 22 once more before the National Draft and PSD (hopefully we get someone of value in the PSD).

Thornton O'Hailpin Jamison -FB
Walker Hartlett Scotland -HB
Simpson Stevens Carrazzo -C
Fisher Waite Gibbs -HF
Houlihan Fevola Russell -FF
Kreuzer Murphy Judd -FOLL
Cloke Jackson Anderson Grigg -INT

i've put Adam Hartlett down at CHF hoping he can find himself this year and hold down a Key Position. I have faith in Jamison, but Harts, given an injury free year should be able to hold down a spot hopefully.

I'm also a fan of Aisike, Betts, Bentick, Hampson, Bannister, Jake The Snake, and Wiggo but cant find a spot for any of them yet. Aisike i'd like to see get a few games in the pre-season to see where he's at. Same with Jake Edwards, just see how they go at the top level and ease them into it. I'm not one for throwing Aisike in the deep end as our starting ruckman, i think that Cloke can take that role next year, the kid may not be Dean Cox, or Simon Madden, but he's a kid who'll always give 100% and go hard. And after the year that Ackland gave us im sure thats all we can expect considering that our other 3 options (Hampson, Aisike, and Kreuzer) have played less than 5 games between them so we cant expect them to walk into the #1 ruck spot and be expected to perform.

In regards to Hadley, i would put him on a HBF and put Jamison CHB and drop Hartlett should things not work out with him this year. But i really want to see him do well so at least round 1 Richard Hadley misses out.

In the PSD i'd like to see either someone to challenge Eddie Betts' spot up forward, or another tall/mid-sized defender. I put Houlihan in the spot i hope someone can take Betts from because i remember that he hasnt got a defensive bone in his body and that he can still do some damage up forward if given the chance he'd love to kick a goal or two. Drummond would have been a good pick up for a defender, but im very happy with Hadley and hopefully we can pick up another 190-192cm athletic defender (do they exist? haha)

Nic

surprising to see action jackson left out of so many peoples equations. i reckon he's a ripper jacko. tough job but i'll have a crack

Backs: thornton setanta jamison

HBF: scotland waite walker

C: gibbs stevens simpson

HFF: houlihan hartlett carrazzo

F: fisher fevola betts

R: cloke judd murphy

INT: hadley jackson hampson wiggins

EMER: blackwell ackland ( :x ) bower

it isn't easy. with so many youngsters it is still tough to work out who is going to step up. they are the unknown quantity. grigg might come on in leaps and bounds. kreuzer might step up by midseason.... maybe sooner... maybe not at all. bower, edwards, anderson all in the same boat.

Ackland shits me off. i don't want him in the side but until hammer and aisake get some more experience under their belt and some more meat on their bones, he is probably going to play more than we'd like him to. from my team to actual team that takes field i reckon hartlett and hampson are the ones most likely to come out replaced by saddo and Ackland.
