What will we lose if Lance is delisted?

Sadly, two thirds of bugger all.

Ironic that in a week most wanted to keep Kennedy, but could see the list benefits of accepting his loss to get Judd we're potentially ending the career of a father-son player who not so long ago had such a promising future.

He has to go.

Can't be true.

He's got to go - he's let himself and his club down too many times. But he's the bloody captain, surely he'd be allowed to retire, and not be publicly sacked? Carlton surely wouldn't dump him so brutally.

Poor bastard, when he does retire everyone will know he was pushed anyway.

A very sad end. There were times when young Lance was shit hot, i know it's ancient history, but he really did have some pretty big moments.

So thanks for those good moments big fella, I'll remember them fondly, but now it's time.

It's sad to see anyone end their career.

It's especially sad when they've been delisted and they were a very good player at their peak. You don't survive 11 years and play 179 games at the one club if you're a hack.

All the best Lance.

Unlike Campo, Beaumont, Allan and Hamill, I hope you retire a one club player and a Carlton man.

That goal you kicked in the 1999 prelimary final was one of the best pressure kicks I've seen and something I'll never forget.

Kennedy is forced out and he's a saint, Lance is forced out and it's a time for celebration.

It's the right decision by the club and I'm glad they made it. But it doesn't mean that I don't feel for Lance. He was never going to play until 35, but to have to be delisted from the club at 28 as a father/son player must be terrible.

He could have presented himself more professionally during his time, but this will be hard to take. Especially as the club is turning the corner, has just acquired Judd and especially to be told by the new coach who used to be his teamate.

I reckon there's a fair chance that he'll crack the sh*ts with the club over this, but I hope it doesn't come to that.

It's a sad end for big Red.

I remember his 5-goal debut against the Bombers when he was 17-18 - he just seemed destined for greatness.

That all seems a lifetime away now.

Good luck Lance, thanks for giving such a big part of your life to the CFC.

I'd love to have played 1 game for Carlton, let alone. 170 odd.

But it shows our club is going forward when we're able to make these tough decisions. I hope someone picks Lance up and that he gets another crack at it but you'd have to doubt it happening I guess.

Thanks for your time at Carlton, luckily all of us here can walk along with our heads held high and claim that we've never had a slack day at work...

Best of luck big red, from one ranga to another.

Fantastic work Ratts, great to see you are willing to make such a tough decision.

Pity about the injury Lance, but your work ethic hasn't been up to scratch over a long period. Good luck with finding a new club. Thanks for your services.

I'm loving the way our football club is being run. We've come a long way and well done to all involved.

Good on Lance for playing 170 games but can't say I'm going to miss having him around...

A bit more than 170 I'd say. Try at least 200. These journos are really duds.

No comparison.
Kennedy did everything within his power to make himself a quality footballer for the CFC.
Busted his gut on the track, worked hard on his rehab, did extra sessions and was totally committed.
Lance didnt do any of those things.

Kennedy was forced out through no fault of his own.
Do you think Lance can say the same? He was given multiple opportunities and was'nt interested enough in taking them.

I dont celebrate his demise but I applaud the apparent lifting of standards at Carlton. Well overdue.

I think it all comes down to professionalism

Carlton since Mr Pratt has been on board seems to be a much more professional club, and was not prepared to have a player on its list who obviously was not professional when it came to his diet.

Im am a bit saddened as I will always remember that goal in the 99 prelim however I do think it is the right decision

I agree, have always been a Whitnall fan but when he was given the captaincy and presented himself in poor condition I felt that was a bad example to all the players and a symptom of what was going on at the club.

We are now more professional and have shown that we cannot tolerate it.

Well done Ratts, its shows you are putting the club first.

Fev take note, prepare properly and play for the team and you will be a star, keep going on with your petulance and you will be gone.

The new era of Carlton is upon us!!!!
