That'd have to be the Vodafone sponsership wouldn't it?

Anyone heard anything regarding ANZ looking to jump on board with a big Melbourne club? They recently ended their long time sponsorship with the Eagles and with Carlton acquiring Judd yesterday it may be Carlton the club in contention?? Any thoughts?

None. I'm at ANZ and was asked to approach top tiers of management on this topic and would suggest it has no chance whatsoever. A single-club sponsorshiop doesn't really work for a Bank because you alienate fans of other Clubs. The WCE sponsorship was a historical legacy.

True, banks don't need to alienate potential customers through a football association when they can just piss everybody off themselves. :P

Good idea as I can't seem to get a lead long enough to plug in the blow-dryer.

ANZ has just sponsored the new Netball league and being an ex-ANZ they are tight with their sponsorship.

From memory the West coast had something to do with the stadium...

Allan Moffat and Gregg Hansford had no problems getting sponsorship from ANZ ... and that was like 20 years ago.

Now that we have Judd, I think we need to create a new thread called Talking Massive.

What do you say mods?

Funny thing is,Fried probably copped more than his share of shit prior to the last election. One of the least fancied candidates.Seems he has made giant strides. Some of the old school hardcore supporters who are hardmarkers and near impossible to please are EXTREMELY ilmpressed with Fried. Now that is a mighty achievment to impress that lot,coz they are not easily impressed.
