Now that we 'have" judd, we can all put in our starting 22 for the 1st round - maybe this should be a competition or something?

Anyways, here is mine based on what will be starting 22 set by ratten in round 1 against the tigers!

BP: Bower

FB: Setanta - I think we will try and make Setanta a KP defender now that we have Kreuzer and Hampson for the ruck into the future.

BP: Jamieson

HBF: Gibbs

CHB: Thornton

HBF: Scotland

W: Simpson

C: Stevens

W: Walker

HFF: Houlihan

CHF: Waite

HFF: Murphy

FP: Fisher

FF: Fevola

FP: Betts

Ruck: Hampson

RR: Judd

R: Carazzo

Interchange:

Hartlett - coming off the bench to fill a role in attack or defence, a better option for the future than saddington imo.
Jackson - deserves his spot in 22 more than russell.
Blackwell - I think he will have a great pre-season and get a position on the bench in front of bentick.
Ackland - will keep a spot in 22 by default until kreuzer or aisake play a few good games in a row in the bullants.

On the fringe:

Wiggins, Bannister, Russell, Bentick, Saddington

So when does the seaon start!

U gotta admit that the midfield rotation is pretty exciting. Lets compare it with geelongs

Gary Ablett Judd
Bartel Stevens
Joel Corey Scotland
Ling Simpson
Enright Carazzo
Chapman Murphy
Kelly Houlihan
Selwood Gibbs
Steve Johnson Walker, Waite
Stokes Betts

I think we might smash geelong by over 119 points this year in the GF – we got them covered!!

Walker at CHB?
Stevens not at the centre bounce?
Cloke kicking for goal?
Houla not in the best 18?
Carazzo, the current B&F not in the best 18?

What you're on for inspiration can't be legal.

I reckon Walker would be awesome as a key defender but it all depends on matchups. He is taller than people think and with his athletiscm he could take on guys like Reiwolt, Franklin etc. Setanta to play on the gorillas and Jamison to take on any other talls.

Stevens starts on the wing a lot, he is not the best player in and under and is better off receiving and using use ball using skills.

Cloke can fill a role at CHF and use his size, will also have time in the ruck. Does need to work on his kicking but there are heaps of good forwards that have played in the same boat. Hartlett is also an option.

Houlihan is definitely not in my best 18, can be utility value if required.

Carazzo will still get a lot of time on the ground. I see a lot of midfield rotations with him, Judd, Stevens, Simpson, Scotland, Murphy, Gibbs, Jackson, Betts, Waite & Grigg all getting a run on the ball.

I too like Walker in defence. Both for his athletic ability (which will hold up both in one-on-one contests as well as running off his opponent) but also because our midfield is going to be chockers next year. Don't forget how he toweled up Robertson last year.

Can we just pay out Ackland's contract?
The Bullants wouldn't even want him.

And throw Hampson and Kreuzer to the wolves before they're ready?

Let Cloke and Ackland do the chop work in the middle with Setanta backing them up. We won't want Hampson and Kreuzer to become the next Josh Fraser by being played before they're ready.

Hadley to Blues. Shall we revise now?

B: Bower Austin Thornton

CHB: Gibbs Waite Walker

C: Carrazzo Scotland Stevens

CHF: Simpson Setanta Fisher

F: Houlihan Fevola Betts

RR: Aisakie JUDD Murphy

Int: Hampson, Jamison, Grigg, Jackson.

A bit of 'romance' involved in mine but i still see it as a pretty effective line-up.

HALF-BACK LINE:
Gibbs to play of half-back, where IMO he played some of his best games for Glenelg.
Waite at CHB, but mainly cause i want Setanta as a CHF.........i think he'd do quite well up there! I remember time where Kouta played at CHB, and i think Waite could do somthing similar (maybe)!

RUCKS:
I went with Aisakie over Ackland cause, well Acklands shit, lets just face facts. But also because Aisakie is gonna make a great Ruck/Rover. By that i mean that he's work around the ground is one of the best parts of his game. Hampson looks to be the better TAP ruckman thou, but that's not to say that Aisakie doesn't win his fair share of the Ruck Contests.

Ackland doesn't deserve a spot in this team. Cloke will be my back-up if (knock on wood) anything should happen to Aisakie & Hampson! And i haven't included Kreuzer cause we haven't picked him yet!

GRIGG:
I'm a big fan of Grigg...... i'm still on him for a Rising Star nomination and i'm expecting big things from him next year! He's the type of player that is gonna rack up big possesions. Maybe lucky to fit in due to the fact that he hasn't shown much yet,............but screw it! It's my team, i'll do what i want!

Int from: Jamison Jackson Bower Carazzo Aisake Hartlett Houlihan Russell Austin Benji Kreuzer/Cotchin plus picks 36 & 46 and PSD 2.

Bit of depth and experience now, should be an intense pre season, a lot of players fighting for positions!!!
