What happened to Good Friday? I thought that was going to be Carlton/Richmond.

With the AFL determined to launch the season with the now customary grand final rematch, Port Adelaide would host Geelong on Thursday night, with the Richmond-Carlton clash intended for Good Friday also mooted as a Thursday twilight game to be televised on Channel Ten immediately beforehand.

A first draft of the 2008 fixture released to the AFL's broadcasters this week revealed that the Good Friday scenario remained in jeopardy due to religious concerns and the fact that at least six clubs were fighting over the fixture despite Richmond and Carlton believing they were the AFL's first choice for the exclusive timeslot.

Religious views????

It would be perfect, Judd the Messiah on Good Friday, would even be better if we played the Eagles on Monday but you get the point right?

Jeez, imagine if Richmond got Judd in the PSD and we play them first up ... 8)
