As I was driving this morning I heard on the news the reporter say "west coast are claiming that they will not make a deal unless carlton agree to trade picks 1 and 3 for Rudd. I thought it was amusing. It also triggered me to think about this. We have won a premiership under every Prime Minister since Gorton.

That's Gorton, Mcmahon, Whitlam, Fraser, Hawke, Keating. We have not however won one under Howard. Just thought I'd share that.

Carlton usually does well under a Liberal Federal Govt too...

I think Howard has been bad karma for us somehow. Could Judd and Rudd be a win / win for the Blues?

Whitlam won the 1972 election in December of that year - so we didn't actually win a premiership under Whitlam.

As I recall Fraser looked after the boys very well in 79, 81, 82 with receptions at Parliament House or "The Lodge" after those premiership wins.

Quite right. There is a nice picture of the players at the Lodge acting all coy in front of the cameras with tammy present I think (in one of the carlton books I have).

Wonder if they were thinking about the slogan that started with "Tammy has one ....
