sorry - black friday was three years ago

The new deal was done last year

they have nothing to do with each other, other than us getting shafted in both cases.

I don't think even the Umpires like him that much either TBB.

Agree. I would not @#$%&! watch this game if it wasn't for carlton. It's the first time I can say that and truly mean it.

It's a @#$%&! disgrace. And the 10 beers I had at lunch time only confirm it.

we've been "shafted" by being scheduled to play the interstate teams at the G, while playing richmond at the dome.

THIS is what angers me! as i've said time and time again, demispew has politicised the draw, which should be sancrosanct!

again, he has used the draw as a bargaining chip, and will continue to do so until we get back to a true home & away draw where everyone plays off against each other twice.

every aspect of the whole friggin competition is compromised!

i know some here feel very strongly about us choosing the G instead of the Dome, but there are also those who think the Dome is a good choice.

for the record, i preferred the G, but accept the Dome (hope not doomed) decision.

some of you who disagreed with the board choice, and were shouted down by the "hooray for collo" group, are now using this to vent your spleen.

let's just concentrate on getting our house in order!!

i'll tell you why we should bother ... cos collingwood was in exactly the same position as we find ourselves in ... they dug deep, and slowly turned it all around.

we have to become smarter, better, stronger ... then pick our moment to get some back! ranting and raving while your being pissed on aint gonna make them stop!

i was one those shouted upon by the "hooray for collo" group

but this isnt about that

this is about our board not doing enough.

and the afl doing everything else in its power not helping us.

and BlueHammer - i feel exactly the same way

i would turn my back on the AFL quicker than you could count to 1 if it wasnt for Carlton.

let me add - how can we possibly get our House in order if we arent even on a level playing field.

Carlton

we stand no chance - and accepting that is worse than the predicament we are in.

Thats kinda the comparison I was making, we got shafted then, we're getting shafted now...there's nothing the board can do because they'll just shaft us worse again if we fight.

true - but a swift punch in the balls (a.k.a. file a lawsuit of constraint of trade) will make em squint

why implicate our board with a decision about to be made between the mcc and afl? are you suggesting our board should step in and smash it?

yep - exactly what im suggesting.

im no lawyer but it seems like either

a. restraint of trade

or

b. insider trading (prior knowledge of a better deal)

either way the club has been shafted by the AFL and they should do their best to ensure that they get some form of compensation from it.

And you guessed it, i dont accept "why fight becuase we will lose"

I dont accept getting punched and abused without putting up some sort of fight.

Explain to me, anyone please explain to me, how 9 months ago the deal that the CFC put forward as not possible, yet now 9 months down the track the AFL is "open to suggestion"

this whole thing stinks to hell.

its all just [REDACTED]

everything that we either asked for our where basically promised from the AFL we have been told to go and get [REDACTED].

No redevelopment of OO - yte the ALF falls over themselves to help other teams

No MCG as a home ground - yet the AFL falls over themselves to help set up Collingwood there (i wont even talk about the fact that they reckon the filth are a bigger drawing club that us)

We got a measly few million to pay out existing contracts which otherwise would have jsut continued at the MCG due to the same caterer.

So in effect we have moved from OO and have not got a sceric back in return other that selling our home ground for nothing.

sorry this whole saga has left a bad taste in my mouth and just accepting it makes it even worse.

MCC offered the afl the same deal, but substitute collingwood for carlton. AFL refused

what fevolaaaa said

but also - the 3 million we recieved was not for us, it was for us to pay out our existing contracts we had in place due to the AFL agreeing to have x amount of games at OO, so in effect we get nothing for the move besudes what little cash that was left over after we paid out our existing contracts which we had in place due to the afl contract to play a certain amount of games there every year.

we got shafted on this deal - big time

And its exactly what they got.

The only thing to be annoyed at is scheduling the port and fremantle home games at MCG. Probably the Hawthorn and Geelong games could be at the G in future, and all games against interstate sides at the dome.

But 50,000 at the Dome is more than you'll get at the G in the cold of winter anyways.

how can you say 6 at the Dome and 5 at the G is the perfect mix then say we should play Hawthorn & Geelong at the MCG?

We should be playing all victorian based teams at the MCG and interstate teams at TD, more closer to and 8 MCG and 3 TD mix that alot of us would have been happier with.

the perfect mix is 6 games at TD and 5 games at the MCG.

what I said was that the thing to be annoyed at is playing Fremantle and Port at the MCG instead of the Geelong and Hawthorn games. Though this was to punish the MCG. I don't think it will be like this in future years.

play all interstate sides at the Dome and the Bulldogs, Kangaroos and maybe Melbourne too.
