When reading this thread it got me wondering about the logic of having three separate Carlton facebook groups.
I've started a discussion in all three groups which raises the idea of merging the groups into the existing group called 'Carlton Football Club':

Just thought that I'd put this out there and see what the interest is.
I'm pretty keen to be involved in a Carlton facebook group etc but there are lots of them out there! We have:
Carlton Football Club - 289 Members
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2460861527Carlton Blues Supporters Club - 611 Members
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2205002774Carlton football club supporters - 486 Members
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2442436135I'd like to put the idea out there that we 'merge' these three groups into one -- under Carlton Football Club.
Admins from the merged groups can be made into Admins in the new group. Members of each group can be notified via the group mail feature that there will be one group that we all should join.
I think that this way we can make one Carlton group really tight and the best that it can be, and we can all have input on the one group interface. Also it would be good to build our numbers in one group to rival the numbers of other footy club groups.
I'm just putting this idea out there, understand if it's not viewed upon favorably. I'll post it in the three group discussion boards.
CARN' THE NAVY BLUES
So far the response has been pretty positive. The Admin from 'Carlton football club supporters' is all for the idea, although I'm yet to hear back from the other Admins.
If you are a member of either of the groups and have an opinion on whether this is good or bad, could you please give your opinion in the discussion topic on the group page? There would need to be some sort of consensus either way for this to occur or not occur.
I think the benefits of one Carlton facebook group could be great. All club functions and events -- whether in Victoria or abroad -- could be posted in the event section on the right side of the group page. Members can be invited to individual events and they register whether they plan to attend. Links to the membership section on the Carltonfc.com.au website can encourage people to sign up.
If you're keen on the idea and have a bit of time then jump onto facebook and let everyone know.
Cheers
