Prez the AFL wanted us at the Dome, we really in the end had no choice except to cut the best deal we could given the circumstances.

The AFL will not while Demetripoo is in charge cut us any slack ever.

Make no mistake if it had been us on the bottom a few weeks ago instead of Collingwood and Essendon*, the decision to change the priority pick critrea would have been made for this season.

I am no lawyer, but surely the carlton Football Club would have some legal redress against the AFL for being denied natural justice.

My understanding is that the deal that looks like being done between AFL, MCC and Collingwood is just what Carlton and the MCC proposed only months ago.

How can the AFL defend this about turn?

Is it possible for Club Members to take a class action against the AFL if the club does not?

How is it our Board's fault?

My understanding is that the AFL had the final say whether Carlton would be allowed to play more games at the G as part of any AFL/MCG Prelim Final deal.... and the AFL, in their unbiased way, decided not to ratify it. The AFL had absolute power in this whole fiasco.

It is bordering on deceptive conduct and a discriminatory approach towards Carlton. Other clubs appear to be getting greater gains from AFL discussions and negotiations and we, once again, appear to have been short changed with our relocation deal.

Furthermore, we have the re-development of PP appearing to stall and fallen into limbo.

Look without starting a massive shit fight on here, I direct equal amounts of anger to our board for their weak approach to the negotiations regarding our relocation. I dont want to mention COI so I wont!!!

I mainly have a problem with the board NOT kicking up the stink it should be? Why do the AFL any favours? Bending over certainly hasn't helped us thus far

I am absolutely livid right now. Sorry, but the buck stops within our club and board. We have given them the right to look after our best interests and wishes. Talk to majority of Carlton supporters and their preference was and still is, the MCG as home ground. That is what they should have fought tooth and nail for, nothing less.

Bloody livid.

It was always going to happen.

I wish i could find my post from last year that stated how It was inevitable that the AFL would have to negotiate and that we shouldnt sign our life away to play at the Shitbox, generic stadium they call the Dome.

God, i hate the AFL. The number of times i have sat there and wished i could just give supporting footy up, because of the way the game is being ruined by the powers that be. Only problem would be i would be biting my nose, to spite my face. Who would i follow. The Storm?!?!?

I am so bloody angry!!!!!

6 games at the Dome, and 5 games at the MCG is the perfect mix for Carlton.
And its exactly what they got.

The only thing to be annoyed at is scheduling the port and fremantle home games at MCG. Probably the Hawthorn and Geelong games could be at the G in future, and all games against interstate sides at the dome.

But 50,000 at the Dome is more than you'll get at the G in the cold of winter anyways.

how can you say 6 at the Dome and 5 at the G is the perfect mix then say we should play Hawthorn & Geelong at the MCG?

We should be playing all victorian based teams at the MCG and interstate teams at TD, more closer to and 8 MCG and 3 TD mix that alot of us would have been happier with.

But maybe it has.

God knows what they might of done to us if we hadn't bent over and copped it.

If Collo hadn't agreed they could rape us Black Friday would they have stopped at $900k or would it have been $3m. Would they have excluded us from the first 2 rounds of the draft for 2 years or would it have been 5 years?

Any talk about the club fighting this is a dream. We will most likely take it yet again for fear of what they might do to us. Only one guy would fight them.

Someone raised the question a week or so ago about whether its worth the club even bothering to go on while they shaft us at every turn. Well yes it probably is. The club will be here long after the maggots have eaten away at AD. Our time will come.
