Ok. I'll get the ball rollling.

The IBM Blues, The Coca Cola Blues, The Microsoft Blues, The Credit Suisse Blues, The Berkshire Hathaway Inc Blues, The ING Blues, The Nike Blues...what are the odds of one of these being right Agro? :-D

I understand it is a major international airline

Seems logical to be Etihad...they are progressing with a pretty big push down here now.

Geez guys if it's an airline that's the major sponsor, one would assume they'd fly to Melbourne - or at the very least, Australia!

Alitalia!!!! They can't afford to defrost their inflight meals nor fly anywhere near our continent. Hell, you can't even get their airfares these days.

El Al!!!! Don't fly to Australia, and dare I say, wouldn't have an overly generous marketing budget. :-D

British Airways - don't fly to Melbourne anymore...

Etihad - don't fly to Melbourne, are applying for traffic rights

Gulf Air - don't fly to Melbourne. Shit carrier.

Qatar??? Possibly, as they will be flying into Melbourne next year???

That would fit our middle-eastern airline trend.

Wish we could steal Emirates off the pies.

Haven't Visy and Qantas shared a business relationship or two for a little while now?

As for Etihad not flying to Melbourne, - watch this space. They also have a Melbourne born CEO, who may just have a close connection to DP. You would expect they would be looking to increase their exposure within Aust through $$$ sporting sponsorship, historically this has been their approach when it comes to exposure. The pies/emirites link has worked well, so it's not beyond thoughts another middle east carrier may follow a similar path.
All guesswork, just joining some random dots....

Etihad pretty big on the Sports Sponsorship scene as well with a bit of money tied up in the F1 and Harlequins Rugby Club as well. Currently flying daily non-stop between Abu Dhabi and Sydney...could it be??

Interesting I was watching Austar on the weekend and for the first time ever saw an ad for Etihad. Perhaps the beginning of a big push down here? Fits in nicely with a big sponsorship

Imagine that! They should make it mandatory that after a goal is kicked for the Blues, every supporter must do their best Blue Steel impression. 8)

Just like Carlton will rise from the ashes in 2008, so will our sponsor, and we'll be...

The Ansett Blues
