I think Carlton has been more than respectfull to Lance. He has not played good footy for ages, struggled with Weight problems all his playing career, and we paid him plenty. We owe eachother nothing.

Even in his B & F year, he played as a sweeper getting cheap possies off half back. We all now how Carltons B & F system works. Its crap. Because he won it means nothing.

We need to part ways as he does not have the committment to be an AFL footballer. Fancy having to tell a 27 year old constantly to keep his weight down. We dont need this shit. What example is he showing our young kids.

Being the B&F winner of 2006, when he played some excellent footy... being a TrueBlue throughout... I actually think it's great that the club gives Lance some more time to show them what he's worth (granted: if he's still worth anything)...

For all the guys that have been talking about the lack of respect from Hamill and Campo leaving without thinking about the Club, I think it should go both ways... the Club paying some respect to Club greats as is (or at least has been) Lance...

Yes, we need to think about the future and at times make ruthless decisions, but to give the guy some extra time to prove whether he's capable of returning as a valuable member of the group (if only to help the young guns)... that's not so bad....

Lance Whitnall is far from a Carlton great.
He was very good for 4 years between 1998 to 2001. Ever since then he has taken advantage of the club with the way he is conducted and presented himself.
Its time the club stood up and doesn't accept mediocrity anymore both on and off the field.

I think all our energies are focused on the Juddonaught for the moment.

I have always been a fan of Lance.

I appreciated his talent in the first 4 years of service.

I was sad to see his (in part, self inflicted) demise.

I did want him to be captain one day, but put it on the record that I didn't want him captain in 2007 when he hadn't completed a preseason.

I also want him to retire in 2007. I couldn't fit him into my first 22 throughout the year. He became a liability.

Last night I had a dream that he was given one more year, and he trained over the preseason like never before, fighting for his resurrection, and 2008 turned out to be a big one for him and the club.

I don't think we need him in 2008, but if we do, it should be on a minimum performance based contract, and the rest is up to him. The cost of keeping him may be Saddington's position on the list. Either way, I'm not too fussed.

That's the sort of dream that goes into the adult-section of the board!!

He will survive if we are in with a chance to get Judd as 2 players will be in a trade with picks.

They'll tell us when they've made a decision Outback. You'll just have to wait!

Well apparently during yesterdays' meeting with Icke, Swann, Ratten and Judd - CJ was shown a team sheet of Carlton's best lineup for 2008 - of course, the team included Chris Judd - the question I have for CJ - was Lance in that team?

Judd holds the answers...no doubt there'd be some sponsors waiting in the wings if he comes on board as well.

Speaking of which, on the off chance that Paul Bower is traded, I wonder if TalkingCarlton would get first dibs on Judd as guernsey sponsor.

Why has it taken this long??
At the end of last season 2006 we should have offered him up for trade but unfortunately with Denis Pagan and Sticks Kernahan around that was never going to happen.
We just have to pray that the legacy of Pagan tenure at the club doesn't last too long.
