After Round 1 1986 when we debuted Kernahan, Motley, Dorotich and Bradley - and Hawthorn proceeded to flog us with Platten as nearly BOG in his first game - Wes Lofts was heard to say after the game we got the wrong interstate recruit.

I'm sure Juddy has had his fair share of pie. :P

In honour of the catalyst for our previous revival (leading to 8 premierships in 27 years) we should give him #31

He shouldn't wear a number, he should wear a sign, he's too good for numbers.

If Lance and Saddo get shown the door, I'd expect Judd to be offered #9 or #8.

I think Synbad mentioned in the Judd thread that Murph would have to forfeit #3 if Judd came on board. I don't like that at all and if I was Murph I'd say "find your own number".

A similar thing happened a few years back when Lockett came back to Sydney. He wanted the #4 again, but Ben Matthews had it and refused to give it up.

Plugger then settled for #2.

And there are enough ... to answer the original question (I don't know if it's actually been answered) ...

8 (I think that's a foregone conclusion, people)

10

12

15

27

35

36

41

42

Let's leave 43 out of it for now, shall we? And I don't think players should be asked to give their numbers up .. the only time someone should change numbers is if they want to, for example, give Aisake the #43 when that number comes out of retirement

..yeah i'm a huge fan of other sports such as soccer having the name & number on the back.. ..looks great.. ..AFL should make it happen.. ..also would be good to see in years to come the name & number on yer own guernsey so you'd know whether yer 25 is a fev or jezz..

How about no 11 with a matching Brucie Doull headband to match?
