I'll take picks 1 & 3 ahead of 1, 2 and the spoon.

Its like this, if the tigers get up tomorrow they are throwing away their own PP(maybe next year as well) and if by chance Carlton get up on Sunday the Tigers lose on pick 1 and Melbourne benefits.

Its a lose lose situation for the Tigers as well.

ATM, destiny is still in our own hands.

I'm just hoping Bosman is right, that Richmond has the foresight of losing tonight so they can tank the second half of 2008 :-D

Meant to add - I'll take 1,2 and WS ahead of pick 3, 20, etc

If Richmond wins, will the prospect of another Spoon actually make the Club decide to try and win on Sunday?

I don't even want that to come anywhere near being a possibility...carn the Saints!

Whatever happens this week, this has put a smile on my dial.

Saints fans will have to be content with the streak box set for a few years yet :-D

As Shane Whittnal said: Go Tigers
The Saints have nothing to play for and I think they have already started their Mad Monday.
All the vibes from Melbourne is that they want the win.
By the end of the weekend we could have Judd or Charman.
Remember what the Prez says: Get the best not he best available

AS MUCH AS IT HURTS, SHORT TERM PAIN FOR LONG TERM GAIN.

Tigers win, we lose.

Pick 1 and 2 in National Draft

Pick 1 PSD

We land a big name no question with the PSD pick 1

And we trade our second pick with a player and land another decent player.

We turn our fortunes round over summer.

If we have the threat of a player walking to us for nothing in the PSD, then a club will more likely take a second rounder and player for a player we want.

tigers assistant coach, David King, straight up admitted that as coaches they dont have any reason to win. He spoke about how tempting having pick 1 in the PSD (for trade leverage) and a PP in the late teens is for their football club.

He said the system as it stands meant that it was tempting to not win today. Then he said that there was no way the players will go out there to win!

So it is not just us that has this incentives to play for, but even the ferals!

I heard the interview too Marciblue....clearly said that their bargaining position given having the PP after the first round and the #1 PSD like you said meant there was no incentive to win today.

Then Den Den said no player goes out there to tank

You'd think he'd know by now that it is up to the coaching panel as to whether a team tanks or not :garthp:

Wallace on MMM said much the same thing- said he felt compromised, better for them to fnish botton and at least get pick 1 PSD and pick 18 ND, expected all moves to be scrutinised and had a big go at Demetriou for burying his head in the sand.

I hear he called The Spew "Fonzie", which as you all know, could never say he was "wr......... wr........ wr......."

Demetrif*ck is one of my most hated men (and AGRO is one of my favourite posters for this reason :P :P ), but in this situation he's boxed in.

He has to claim that there's no tanking cos he sold the AFL to the devil in organising contracts between the league and betting agencies. Now that he's tied in with gambling, he can;t openly admit sides are 'fixing games', which is essentially what we're doing.

So he has to keep spouting that crap about tanking not existing (even though he probably knows it does).

It's fun cos it makes him sound stupid.
