I don't want any more spoons but I want the no 1 pick more.

Regardless of what any of us say, its got nothing to do with whats written on these pages. What happens will happen

Whats a spoon worth compared to 20 years ago?

Best young player in the Country + Ability to throw large sums of money at anyone uncontracted. This year it also gives us pick 2 and 18.

Is a spoon worth it? Bloody oath it is. Anyone who thinks otherwise is short sited.

Why hasn't that boon helped us secure a gun in the past two pre-season drafts? :?

No spoon for mine.

Three spoons in a row would be pathetic and doesn't sit well with me.

I don't want that on our record.

There isn't enough schadenfreude in denying Richmond a possible early PP next year to make winning the spoon worthwhile.

Kreuzer and Palmer/Masten/Morton/Ebert is fine.

Why? Because we have been a basketcase off field. Richard Pratt/Greg Swann compared to Graham Smorgon/Michael Malouf.

Quality operators, attract quality players.

The ability to hand Richmond the spoon and the second pick is a once in a lifetime opportunity - go saints!

flower getting another spoon, there's only a bee's dick differnce between 1 and 2 or 1 and 3.
I am more worried about us picking the right player for a change.
No more Livo's, Sporns and Wigglers with high draft picks thanks.
We need a ruckman, 1 = Kruezer.
We need a goal kicking midfielder, so hopefully 3 = Palmer.

As for the PSD, well pick 1 means jack if we are going to waste it on Acklands.

Hopefully now that we have ridded ourselves of the previous hierarchy these problems will not keep coming back to tear chunks off our butts.

I seriously doubt Richmond will win. That have as much to lose as we have.

If Richmond beats the Saints, I would rather Carlton win and avoid winning another spoon. The spoon is the inverse of a premiership. We don't want another one

9-16 is the wooden spoon. Any team in this range has wasted the year and achieed jack shit. If your going to wasted a year then do it properly like we have to give yourself the best chance to play finals and win the big one.

In 3 years everyone will be glad we made the choices we have the past month

If you're going to put it that way, then 2-16 = jack shit.

At least you now get "something" for finishing last, which is the only consolation

That's correct.

In 2004 we effectively won the spoon.

I'd rather no spoon and picks #1 & #3 however picks #1 & #2 plus the spoon is still a good outcome for us.

The ONLY positive thing that would come from getting the Spoon this year would be getting pick 1 in the PSD. But as all the "wise sages" (sarcasm intended) reckon trading for anyone over the age of 21 is suicide for the club, then what's the use?

Exactly. No one really wants 3 spoons in a row. 1 & 3 would be fantastic.

Its not like we're wooden spoon virgins any more.
We've copped a couple now and on most occasions lately, when we have'nt copped it we've been arguably the worst team anyway.

If finishing last gives us far better opportunity to get quality in the PSD, go for it. A player will be far more likely to nominate for the PSD if there is certainty in their destination.

I dont see the problem really. Are people worried they'll get stirred more because we're spooners?

Whats best for the rebuilding of the list should take precedence.

Prefer saints to win - get 1 and 3 and PSD 2

If Tiges win - let's get the spoon, 1 and 2 and PSD 1. I couldn;t give a shit. Spoon has lost meaning - it should be called the GOLDEN spoon.

Our priority pick should be our first priority (no pun intended) regardless of the Richmond result.

Just for the record - the PSD is overrated (although we may use it better now).
