Well, what more can I say? I think everyone has summed it up beautifully.

They said you were skinny enough to hide behind a goal post but I reckon you hid from your opponents because so many times you *came out of no where* to take a grab or snatch a goal.

Bye Skinny Image

Hope you won't be a stranger to the club

My brother, (a mad WCE member) always used to argue with me that Phil Matera was a better player than Skinny!......and then it was on!
Years later, my brother finally agreed with me that Skinny was by far the better player, more versatile, etc, etc, etc. 8)

But we all know that - his record speaks for itself.

I'll never forget jumping off the couch at "That Mark" and screaming you f*ing beauty!

Thanks for the memories Skinny.
Well done mate.

In the end Matty Lappin did the team thing, as he always did for Carlton and put the club first.. Though, i do think he would have done alright going on for another year, and with Ratts game style as he said, but its gonna be good to get more games under the youngsters belts...

Matty Lappin was a little gun.. Propably an underrated footballer... He had a few very good seasons and was at his peak from 2001-04 where he was withut doubt one of our best players...

Terrific general and sweeper off the backline, and a great goalkicker aswell...

A special player.. he will be missed..

As will our champion Kouta, who i didnt get around to making a post for...

All the best to these 2 great clubmen..

Nooo, he had another year left in him!!!

One of my all time favs.

Still remember him knocking back Richmond's $$$, and subsequently seeing him on the news getting out of his car and announcing: "I love my club."

A champion.

Don't post much but have to give a quick shout.

Lappin has been a fantastic servant to the club and should get life membership.

Lappin became a life member of the club early this year (along with Fev) for eight years service.

Onya Matty. Best wishes for the future, and thanks for all the good times.

Would like a say in who wears the no 12 jumper next
Best he saw was Kouta in 2000

If Lance stays, it will be Kreuzer. If Lance goes, Kreuzer will get 8 and pick #3 will get 12.

Well done matty.
A very good player. Pity you didnt play with more successful teams.

Lappin's duel with Pickett in the 99 Grannie was one I will always remember.

Good luck with the golf in retirement skinny
