A melbourne supporter mate and I were talking and he suggested the ultimate way to end the suspense......

Melbourne agree to win in exchange for us trading them pick 18 for Jamar (this would be a player who they dont want but in the same way as the Veale deal a few years back)......

As a result, we have pick 1 and they have their P.P.

Any thoughts????

It's something I have thought about before. :)

We both want to lose just as much as each other so something has to be done. :?

Do what you said or if they are interested offer them Whitnall for a 4th/5th rounder. :-D

Both clubs need to meet and agree on some sort of deal otherwise one club is totally [REDACTED]. :x

Um, couldn't we swing a trade deal with Melbourne and the AFL before the game and then actually be entertained by a genuine game of footy where both teams and Club managements want their teams to win??

I think organising - and cutting a deal - on the outcome of a game prior to it happening is called match fixing, which would carry a severe penalty if proven. If the club wants the pick, they just have to select a young team and go out their assuming their inexperience and lack of match fitness will see them fall short.

Considering both teams would have as much to lose by it coming out (if this hypotehtical DID happen), I doubt anyone would actually know that match fixing occured.. all we would do is name the kids, they would name more senior players that they otherwise may not have and we lose from the coaches box.............

it has the anticipation of something quite historic...in a weird way

The real contest is not happening out on the footy field......

Its the first time the whole country will be united behind us to not win a spoon
Noone wants us to lose!!!!

Greg Swann couldnt be contacted for a comment yesterday... and good on him......

I wanna know why noone is pointing the finger at the Swans and MElbourne and even STkilda tanking (assuming StKilda can get in...)

Anyway.. i love this... its just about taken the place of footy....

Totally agree. Its a real hoot. I'm tipping the TV audience for the game will be HUGE, and it will also be the lowest crowd for the G in years !!

The only people needing to explain themselves are the flowering AFL.

So who gives a flowering flower about those flowering flowerers?

They can go flower themselves - especially that flowering fat flower, DimWitRiou.
