The odds I heard this morning had Carlton at $3.40 and Melbourne $1.7. There would have to be a fair bit of money for Carlton to start favourites.

The only way a count can be called is if one of the Captiains calls for it (usually the team that feels agrieved). My advice to Lance is to ignore it. If Melbourne call for it and they are over then it won't look good for them (no better than forfieting).

It won'r happen.

Carlton will loose, make no mistake. The supporters have come way too far and endured too much to have it all snatced away in the last round. I will be mighty pissed off if we are fair dinkim this weekend.

just a disgraceful situation that the afl clearly has the power to act on, but are quite happy to stick their collective heads in the sand and let play out into farce. their stand on important matters most of the time is 'if you don't admit there is a problem, then there isn't one'. i don't think anyone could disagree that we are in dire need of assistance via draft picks.

gws is right on the money, that would be true leadership from the AFL, but they'll happily sit by and watch a farce ensue.

There is NO WAY we will win this game of football...

I have a feeling after what Lyon said that they might try the 19 man trick. Mind you, if they did, I reckon all the clubs in the land would protest and claim they manufactured it.

If Melbourne try the 19 man trick I would hope that the AFL commission to see sense as they did with the Stkilda Freo draw and award us the priority pick and to take away Melbourne's first round pick.

if they did the commission would hopefully use the same sense they used in the freo/stkilda decision and award us the priority pick and strip melbourne's away from it.

He would have been better keeping his gob shut on this matter, until after we lose the game. Nothing to be gained from what he said, it only fuels the fire.

Personally i dont think its a bad thing what Kouta has said....

OMG - Did I just see Synbad compliment something Kouta has done in the last 10 years?

From a story on realfooty: AFL Bookies react to tanking debate

Quote:
However Melbourne caretaker coach Mark Riley will be one man definitely chasing a win, as he is still not assured of a job next year and is vying for the fulltime position.

This definitely plays in our favour.

Agree with Synbad. We've come this far and to me anyway its been so obvious since Ratts took over that the PP has been the aim. You can tell by selections and match day moves etc...surely you guys can see this too. If you agree with this then you CANNOT believe for one second that we will win this week. It's just not on the cards. Everything will be done (short of not turning up) to ensure a loss. So relax and turn all thoughts to 2008.

Doesn't our captain have to call for a count of players for the 19 man rule to be invoked?
