Quite simply there was no positives as far as our play was.

The only positive is if we lose next week we will have picks 1 and 3

Today showed me just how far behind we are

Is it possible for us to end up with picks 1 & 2?

If the tigers beat the bummers(which could happen) they'll only be 1/2 a game behind us.Then who do they play in rd 22? Win that and we've got 1 & 2  :)

I think they've got the roos.

they won't win.

the perfect scenario (avoid wooden spoon, get first pick) is still the most likely outcome.

why will 2008 be different

New Coach Ratten who will start and early pre-season to put the new plans in place
Swan and Iche to have had 2007 to review and put the changes in place for 2008 IE - Removal of Pagan / implementing developement coaches to assist in developing such a young list / finacial pressure eased / re-comunication between reserves coach and senior coach.
Several good kids having come through - Jackson - (been great) / Bower / Jamison
More games into Murphy / Gibbs / Santanta / Kennedy
Improvements in Waite / walker / carazzo / Fisher
Will see return of Stevo(huge Loss for 2007) / Cloke / T-Bird / Fev?

If we loose next week Pickx 1/3/21 - some good draft prospects with also a chase of a high profile out of contract player

2007 will spell the end of the Pagan era / board problems / coaching problems /

No excuses now for improvement in 2008

PROS
Waite
Jackson
Hampson moves well and has a great leap. too early for AFL footy but great to see him play.

CONS
Our decision making and kicking were disgraceful
If we are to play tempo possession footy the players must improve their skills. I wonder if they are over coached. The number of short kicks that went to opposition players or to players under the pump was unbelievable

Overall a boring game

Lance got plenty of ball but if he is kept it will be a disgraceful decision.

Pro's Jackson looks a player
Gibbs smother on the back flank
Hampson got a game....ditto Grigg
Jamison got another game and reminds me so much of M.Sexton

Cons....plenty but doesnt matter at this stage of the season...

3. Placement of Russel on Harvey and wells - we've seen him play his best footy as a lead up half forward and he started well today in that role. Then, for some reason, he was moved into the run-with role that has brought him minimal success.

He does look the part as a lead up forward but, unfortunately, Murph couldn't or wouldn't stick with Harvey.

Pro - Banno's shut down effort on Grant.

Excellent points.
Marc Murphy looks very disinterested at the moment. some of his chasing of opponents is Whitnall like. Was a worry that he couldn't keep up with Harvey.
Hopefully with a fit stevo next year he will step up.
Banno was very good on Grant. Its the very first time I've seen Grant quiet against us.
Both Saddington and Whitnall don't have the pace to go with the modern game.

Jacko
Bower played well
Jamo was even brought up forward as a target late in the last quarter
Joshy Kennedy played well - dont play through him enough in the forward half took a nice grab in last quarter
PP is nearly ours 8 more days of waiting
Bryce played well up forward but i dont no why he tried 2 pick up the ball in the goal square...

CONS
DISPOSALS - especially we have seemed to use the hospital handpass
CLEARANCES - we got smashed out of the middle today even with an ordinary ruck we usually get more clearances
Fish injured????
Murph and Walks seemed to be out of sorts today i think walks is injured but murph just didnt seem to want to go to Harvey

PROS:

We lost. Sad to tank but we've come this far..........
Bower. When he puts on a bit of bulk and with games under his belt, will be a beauty.
Jamo. Great find. Very good HBF in the making.
Jacko. Can play. Another good draft "find".

CONS:

Bryce and Murph look like they can't wait for the season to end. Flat as tacks. When you look at Selwood..............na, they be'll ok....surely...
Hacklandorama..........please p1ss this guy off forever. He ain't an AFL player's ar#$hole.

7 more sleeps :-D

Carlton supporters have been spoiled by years of players being introduced to the fold when they were fit and hardened after a couple of preseasons. It's easy to remember that we talking about a couple of very young and slight boys, and this is the first full season each of them have played. Most teenage blokes struggle to wake up passed 10:30 each day such is the rest they need, these guys have had a massive workload and should be commended that it's taken 21 rounds before they're starting to show fatigue.
