I got the feeling he won't be the only debutant in the last fortnight.

Awesome for Hammer. I really wasn't expecting it given he is so thin and is a ruckman that needs plenty of time to develop. Great to see Rats take a punt. I think its highly likely that Austin will get a gig next week. Don't think that there will be any others barring some major injuries.

Would like to see both Hampson and Austin come into the side for the next 2 weeks.

a HOME GROWN ruckman what are we thinking 8) -how refreshing -first one since Porter/Allan its been a while
Shows also that these games are not meaningless at all
Agree that he should follow Jeff White around the whole games against DEES

Good to see Hampson get a game. But the Hack must keep his spot in the team. Lets not forget what it is we're trying to achieve here. I think Carlos needs a rest for the last 2 rounds.. 8)

Jokes aside he'd get more spring off the drier turf.

Telstra dome is a pretty firm ground, but i was relating to his incredible leap.

He might find himself reaching new hights with the excitment of playing his first Afl game!

in the pre-season weights charts, hampson is heavier than leuenberger, and didn't he look sensational last week for brisbane. we need to get kreuzer to make up for demetrispews shafting of us by changing the PP last year. power to hammer - and also austin, and kennedy back? hartlett?

His physical stature is'nt the problem.
Good luck to Hammer but he's not close to AFL standard at the moment.
He has a great leap, runs like the wind and is good below his knees but he still drops too many marks, isnt consistent by foot and avoids physical contact too much.

I'm not being overly critical, he will be a quality player but its too early to be pushing him up.
Let the kid find his feet and feel comfortable playing at VFL level first.
There's no need to put him under that pressure.

To be fair, I don't think there are any real expectations on him though, BV. Given that it's "all about next year"...
