But seriously, that is hilarious.
Brown I'll give you.
Pavlich is debatable.
Richo, Lucas, Lloyd, laughable.

If Fev had Richo's work ethic and demonstrated the effort that Richo shows then Fev would be a superstar. Richo brings others into the game, he is the general in the forward half. He leads to create space for others which creates holes for players like Brown. His 1% are fantastic.

Fev is not an A-Grader and if you think he is then you over-rate him. Fev is a lead to the ball player and if he doesn't mark it then he simply says stuff it I tried that is enough. He doesn't push himself. He lets his opponents win too often. If he is out numbered he doesn't even try. Plugger always played with 2 players on him and Plugger never gave up.

And all the players I mentioned above play with two opponents on them every week and they keep trying persisiting. Fev is the type of guy that would have sat next to smart guys at school during class tests and cheated from them to get an excellent mark.

This guy is lazy, consistently lets his team mates down, talks about how he is going to change and does SFA about it.

While the foorball world rate him on his unfulfilled potential, lets get something for him at trade time.

Collingwood did it with Tarrant so I hope we have the courage to do the same with Fev.

Looking at their careers Lloyd, Lucas and Richo have had better careers. Fev has a lot of work to do to even match them.

I'm not for or against a Fev trade, but while your point has some merit it is also arguable that we could function reasonably effectively without Fevola.

Round 10: 21 goals kicked, 1 by Fevola.

Round 11: 22 goals kicked, 2 by Fevola.

And Brad Fisher has kicked 39 goals to date this year. So there's at least one 40 goal per year player for you.

I concede the above highlights are isolated and do not paint a consistent picture of our goal scorers, but it does show that if Fev was traded and the coach had to plan for 2008 without Fev on the list that there is evidence to suggest we wouldn't be the barren forward line you suggest.

I don't buy that Camel.

With Fev not there do you think we would have kicked all those goals during that time. Fev would of had 2-3 players following him when the ball came in which other players were free.

Fev not playing means Fisher gets the best fullback and so on.

Fev must stay. He has shown his committment to the blues. To trade him would cause a split in the club

Unless Judd is involved with a trade then we should keep Fev.
With an improving midfield and an improved forward structure/game plan the Fev will be smilin' & happy.

Hope his injury isn't too bad and he can get a full pre-season in.

BRING IN THE RAPTOR!!!!

I agree. Good strategic planning by the club. Keep gradually pulling out sore, senior players over the next 2 weeks. Get us ready for preseason. And obviously get us ready to lost to Melbourne, and gain the draft advantage we both need and deserve.

Agree again, CB. Fish, Betts, JK, Harts, Jake, Waite and more goals from a developing midfield will be a huge help in the next few years.

Jury still out with the Fev. More sooky stuff today still worries the hell out of me.

:garthp:

I'm glad he is rested because he's injured & playing him may make it worse. I couldn't give a toss about tanking - I feel sick at the thought that people actually want us to lose.

If a grand final came down to a final play in the final seconds and there was a one on one contest and the FF had to win the ball to win the game, I would wish I had my money on the team that had the players I mentioned above and not Fev.

Fev just stops after his first effort. This is totally unacceptable. There is a huge difference between his words off the field and actions on the field. He is taking everyone at the club for a ride.
His second and even 3rd efforts since Ratten's taken over has be outstanding. His 1%'er's have contributed to a number of goals since then.

He's done that 1% stuff under Brittain and under Pagan but he doesn't maintain it. A coach has to know what he's going to be getting from his players (in terms of effort at least). Fev's a massage-intensive player. Teams can't afford to carry cowboys nowadays.
How do you propose to replace a player that kicks that many goals. You won't find it in a draft pick. Maybe you think you can pluck another gun forward off a tree. Proposing to trade him opens one up to potentially looking stupid. Try thinking a little deeper and smarter. If you think some of those guys (Brown excepted as we saw last night) will win a game for you before Fev, you're dreaming. Richo would line up from from 20m and miss by 30m. I still remember Fev goal from the boundary against Adelaide from outside 50 that won a game. It was alot harder than Brown's shot last night.

I believe the decision is simple, if someone is prepared to offer a first round pick and a good young player then do the deal. If not, he stays but Ratten has to instill in him that his petulance will not be tolerated in his team (even once is too much). Some people seem to get excited when he puts in for a week or does a tackle. I was there yesterday and his body language was awful and I thought that the players around him didn't care for it either. If we got rid of him I certaintly think it would show the players that Ratten will not put up with any crap and no matter how good you are you have to play within the team guidlines.

Ratten has to establish this from the beginning. Too many players are getting away with too much. Fev's attitude, Whitnalls weight, Betts lack of fitness, Acklands lack of effort etc. These thing cannot be tolerated anymore!!!!

Yes, I have been a Carlton member for 15 years and have also played the game

Weren't they the two games that Fev was used as a decoy? I believe they were so it's a bit rich to use them as an example.

I think you just look at yesterdays game to see how much Fev means to us. If he had kicked 4-5 goals we would have won easily , simple as that. He was also behind our comeback last week and without him the Bummers had us twice this year. He has the ability to kick 5 goals in a quarter something perhaps only J.Brown could equal.

isnt well liked? u serious, then how come fev said wen he got suspended, pretty much all players told him to come back, also just go down to trainin and you could see all the players get a long with him well. He wants to stay and the club want him to stay. Some people just have to realise that fev is our best player and our only A-grade footballer. Simmo has done well, but still has a bit to go, so to has murph, fisher, carrots. I read on this website some guy sayin fev is not an A - grand footballer, well his kindin himself, fev is one of the best players in the game, his been playin injured all year, his had a "bad" year yet his kicked 60 goals and is 3rd in the comp. And we cannot afford to get rid of a player like fev, in a team that lacks quality players we cannot afford, we have been at the bottom for the past 5 years, we simply cannot afford to. Ratts has come in and they have a good relationship and i really see feva being very good under ratts. Tradin fev for a couple of draft picks would be absolute stupid getting a couple of youngsters who could be anything and do nothing, its a risk. All this talk is bullshit.

Sorry Fev,

but I don't think Fevola is an A grade footballer either. To me an A grade footballer is someone who performs for the team week in week out The talent is there but the attitude isn't). At 27 years of age Fev has had one good season yet he still acts like a petulant child. He was suspended for one game by the club for his antics against Fremantle yet I have seen signs over the past few weeks that he is getting back in his old habits.

Imagine if a Jordan Bannister or a Simon Wiggins behaved the way he has, they would be kicked straight out of the club. We have tolerated his behaviour for too long and now that we have a new coach I hope we will not tolerate it any longer. I have no doubt that if he goes we will find someone to fill his spot, we always do!!

To me he has the POTENTIAL not just to be an A grade player but an absolute superstar but between the ears he just doesn't have it. If he was a focused team player he could easily be the most influential player in the AFL, even when I hear him speak now about his loyalty to Carlton it sounds like his manager talking. He knows damn well he will never earn the money he does now again in his lifetime.

IMHO he has more talent in his little finger than most of our players have
in their whole bodies but he will never fulfil it, if he hasn't now he never will and he is just a bad example for the our young list.

I honestly don't understand why we keep putting up with it?

nobody questions his ability, or the fact that he played hurt yesterday, but his attitude on the field hasnt changed and that cant be tolerated.

and he has had enough chances. I would trade him if the right deal came up, which is unlikely as opposition clubs know what they are getting.

If you class the top echolon of players in the top 5 % Fev comes up short.
He would be there except for his sooky attitude. With the new coach , hopefully any actions like yesterday wont be tolerated if he stays in 08.

Face it the guy is a dill and at times is an embarrasment to the club.
Granted he has been one shining light in a dim time for the club, but with exciting times ahead in 08 and beyond, Fev can only be in the club's future plans if he doesnt spit the dummy anymore.

How many more chances do you give this guy at 27 years of age next season.
