Let me first say, that I've been to pretty much every Carlton game played in Victoria for the past 20 years of my life, and I have seen great victories and bitter disappointments. Today, however, was one of the most unenjoyable days I've had at the footy. The pure emptiness of not knowing who you want to win, and having a twisted desire for a hated scummy rival to narrowly defeat my old dark navy, was unnerving to say the least.

Anyway, we got what we came for in the long run.

PROS

1. Simmo - great again

2. Fish - solid contributor

3. Jammo - got 6 kicked on him by the biggest turd in football but I;ve got a feeling that he has a future.

4. Murph - class

5. We need pick 1 and 3 - and should get it.

CONS

1. We don't have enough promising young kids in the side - there aren;t many 18, 19 and 20 year olds impressing. 6 sub-30 picks have shown nothing, even though it is early days

2. Walker - I was praising him highly early in the season and still have faith. If he ain't fit, why play him? If he is fit, some of his kicking is atrocious, which I thought he had improved.

3. Red - Doesn;t have too much of a future

4. Too many average players that are playing for their careers are performing above themselves and endagering our PP (you know who I;m talking about)

5. Blackwell - Campo murdered him. Doesn;t look a player.

If we beat Melbourne after all this shit, heads will roll. We must subtly make the side a lot weaker with 3 changes this week, 3 changes the next. Austin, Hampson, Raso, whoever - come on down

-Great jobs by Waitey and Scoto

PROS
Ackland's ruck tap to Murphy to kick the goal
Bower looking more steady
Jamison even though he had a bag kicked on him
Bentick in close
Fisher again
Fevola being put out to pasture for the last two weeks, bring in Hampson, Hartlett or Kennedy

CONS
Whitnall's mobility at ground level + his legs don't have the strength to kick the ball - finished or to the Bulldogs.
Kicking skills need work in the pre-season to suit Ratten's gameplan
Who knows, after BOG by Campo today he might want to come back and play under Ratts. :-D

Pros
Fisher - shows what application and hard work can really do. Was a woeful kick but nailed some excellent goals today
Jamo - he will be good
Eddie - getting more mature and relishing more midfield time
Lance - proved pretty conclusively that his time has come.
Murph and Gibbs - quality experience and time for these guys in tight situations
Con
The shit system that makes it ok to lose!

Pros:

Fisher is an amazing player
Bentick was very good
Waites rebound from defence
Bower, boy can that kid play
Gibbs and Murphy were classy
Houlihan is on the verge of being an A grade player
Scotland very good
Walker was good but needs to improve kicking to become the player that we hope he will become
Fev is out for the season.

Cons

Selecting Whitnall, Saddo, Lappin all players that don't have a future.
Having to hope like hell that we didn't win. Shocking feeling but for the benefit of the club going forward it was a great result.

Pros

Into the Preliminary Final against the roos, and then one game to go and hopefully advanced for the grand final against Melbourne.

Brad Fisher (Top Player)

Ryan Houilhan

The Young Players having a go like Jamieson

Cons

The only Carlton Last Premiership Player playing with the Scum who should've been with us until his retirement.

Brad Fisher possibly in danger as trade if Fevola is off the cards, as every club would be trying to steal him for players we don't want, have a bad one in round 22, Brad.

No game yet for Flint,Austin and Raso

No David Teague

Washed up players

Lappin should talk to the club this week to see if he gets a 1 year contract and if not, announce his retirement for the kangaroos game if i was in his shoes.

Whitnall can still get the last laugh at full forward against Melbourne if the ball gets delivered right on his chest, without running much, lol and Ackland in the Ruck, thinking in his mind kreuser can get stuff,i'm not going no where with my 3 year contract even thou if Ackland was good he could play another position and do a bit of the back up in the Ruck and we could recruit Kreuser if we got the pick.

Was definitely a weird feeling today. I loved watching our young kids come along but at the same time felt that we do deserve the better picks. At the filth game I actually wanted us to win so as to derail their final 8 aspirations. But today I was happy with the result because anyone could see what a rabble the scum are and they will not make the 8 anyway. So we were the only team out there with anything of real value to lose had we won.... :? I know how stupid that sounds but that's the system so move on.

PROS:
Fish-again I will state he must be close to AA half forward this year
Kids-all had reasonable games again
Lloyds disallowed mark. Definitely the highlight of the day.
Knowing that the scum are a team going nowhere fast.

CONS:
Not many. Probably Whitnall. He's finished. Other than that given where it is we are wanting to go, we did the job well again.

The PP is safe.

Con:

A great match was ruined by some shit umpiring at the death, and cost us a win

Pros:
Fisher - there were times when he couldn't mark to save himself, boy has that turned around recently.
Closer to picks 1 & 3
Simmo - love his runs.
Eddie - looked better.
Lance - looked good but didn't damage.
Sitting in the Essendon* members and listening to the comment that were made about umpiring

Cons:
Losing to the scum
Fevola - struggled all day
Eddie - Poor decision making is a couple of points but overall he was alright.
We have to play Melbourne, oh noes!
Lloyd - cheap goals, 5 of 6 were kicked inside the goal square

I don't think you've been watching the same Brad Fisher.

Marking has always been his strength.

Not against the Scum. There's no way a loss against them should ever, ever be cheered

Fisher is starting to become a very very cosistant player.

Jamo. I think we got ourselves a beauty

Is it just me or does our backline look better without thorton.

Walkers great bump in the third
CON'S

Siting there not really caring that we lost. That's a Flowking crap feeling.

PROS:
Brad Fisher - the best mark at Carlton since Stephen Kernahan at approximately half the body weight. I love the way he has taken his major weakness - kicking - and eradicated it completely. If some of our other players worked on skill deficiencies like that we would be in a very different place.

The style we play under Ratts. Let down horribly by poor skills and decisionmaking but some of the run out of the backline with quick hands was just vintage Carlton.

Kade Simpson - he doesn't dominate games but he puts his body on the line every time. One smother in the 2nd quarter today was just awesome.

O'hAilpin - he is really starting to get the hang of things and with another full-on pre-season is going to be a force next year.

Mark Johnson trying to break a tackle with his trademark shove to the face and getting pole-axed and penalised (can't remember the tackler - Murphy?)

CONS:

Matthew Lloyd - the Queen bitch is one of the filthiest players in the league and I cannot remember a match against us where he hasn't resorted to some form of filthy sniping

Losing to the Bummers is always a con, regardless of what's riding on the game.

Poor skills - this is an ongoing problem and needs intensive remedial work. Brad Fisher is living proof that it can be done.

Pros
- We Lost
- Bower, Jackson and Jamison coming along nicely
- Fisher fast becoming an A Grader
- Betts looking the goods

Cons
- None. A near perfect result for us.

Pros

Rattens coaching
The kids.
Allowing Campo to look good which helps to hand us the pp.. and hopefully gives Campo an extended contract with the scum.
Gibbs gets to see Hird from close up. again

Cons.

I think Lance is trying to con us by pretending he is a footballer.
