Like Swann said on the Radio, he's a required player and wants to be at Carlton. He's a fantastic player and not worth trading. How many premierships has St Kilda won since trading Lockett, Everitt and Hall again? (Someone has already said it another post too)

Unless the trade is special, Id like us to keep Fevola.

For all his problems and issues, forwards like him are hard to come by.

Problem is his groins. Struggles to see out a season.

THe sooking is a nice diversion.

I'd take a decent trade.

I wouldn't want players, I'd ask for two first round draft picks. Let a club like the Bulldogs trade players elsewhere so we get the reward which suits where our list is at. Hawthorn went this road barely three years ago and look where they are now. If not, forget it.

That could be a coincidence, remember, we are talking one club and three players. I don't remember the swans winning a premiership with Lockett, either.

At this point in time the following players who do play in the forward line are better at that position:

Pavlich, Richo, Lucas, Lloyd, J.Brown

lol, are you serious.

Yeah, but he did kick 6 goals in a losing Grand final. I'm saying it's no point trading a great forward for draft picks to develop into forwards or other players that may or may not turn out... Most teams who trade a real star quality player (not Tarrant), barring injury don't get equal value. Depends whether you think Fev's a star.

When you actually open your eyes and watch the game have a look next time at how many times fev is trying to mark it with 2-3 Essendon* players in the contest

Ever thought that those other carlton players are getting opportunitys to kick goals cos the opposition are playing off their opponents to stop fev?

That ever cross ur mind?

Majority of the top players in the league aint come in the top 10 draft picks, so stop thinking higih draft picks is the key to go

its great but its not everything

Hird was pick 45 or something
pavlich was a low draft pick

list goes on

The list of what? Pavlich was a #4 draft pick, so it can't be a list of good players taken with low (in terms of the pecking order, not numerically) draft picks.

Of course there are good players taken with the lower picks, but that's a poor argument against the priority pick. Simply put, the #1 pick gives you the freedom to pick any young player you want, the player that you rate the most. The fact that good current players were chosen in the 3rd+ round simply means that at the time, clubs didn't rate them. Not that your chances of picking up a good player are just as good. The percentage of top 10 (even 20) draft picks that play over 50 games would be a lot, lot higher than the percentage of 30+ picks that play over 50 games. To get an accurate idea of drafting, you have to look at the whole picture, not one superstar who, for a number of reasons, was passed over by a number of clubs when he was drafted.

Also remember that drafting is a whole different ballgame to what it was back then - recruiters don't make as many mistakes as they used to.

Can anyone plz enlighten me as to who will actually be kicking our goals given that fev is traded elsewhere?

who on our current list is capable of kicking 40 goals a year?

its pure madness for people to ask for fev to be traded... without him, our forward line is nothing....Fevola did alot of good things today, without him in the side, Fisher would not kick one goal, nor would the others!!!!

Fevola is a 100 Goals a year player, and he will deliver in the coming years provided that we give him decent deliveries... the Inclusion of Nick Stevens, and the improvement of our current midfielders will mean fevola will double his 50 goals this year to a 100 next year!!!!

people always concentrate on his bad side, but totally choose to ignore the things he is so capable of.....

without him, our team is worth nothing.. Ratten is too clever and knows fev's value, and he will not Trade him, unless a Judd or Kerr wants to come back home!!!

If a grand final came down to a final play in the final seconds and there was a one on one contest and the FF had to win the ball to win the game, I would wish I had my money on the team that had the players I mentioned above and not Fev.

Fev just stops after his first effort. This is totally unacceptable. There is a huge difference between his words off the field and actions on the field. He is taking everyone at the club for a ride.
His second and even 3rd efforts since Ratten's taken over has be outstanding. His 1%'er's have contributed to a number of goals since then.

He's done that 1% stuff under Brittain and under Pagan but he doesn't maintain it. A coach has to know what he's going to be getting from his players (in terms of effort at least). Fev's a massage-intensive player. Teams can't afford to carry cowboys nowadays.

Even though there have been times when Fev has let himself down we would be mad if we traded him.

Lets face it no club will give up an A grade player for him (a grade as in Kerr, Judd ect)

Keep Fev I say especially as this years draft (from what I hear) is not that strong.

Keep Fev, Picks 1 , 3 and whatever other numbers we get in the draft will be sufficent.

Add it to the young playing list we have and BANG we WILL all be able to sit back and see us grow back into a POWERHOUSE again with Fev kicking 100.00

Fev should be traded if the right deal comes up.

he is a peanut and his actions yesterday once again highlight that he isnt a team player in a team sport.

tHE DAYS OF HAVING A HUNDRED GOALKICKER ARE GONE

Geelong is a fine example

Mooney has kicked 45 goals this year, leads their goal kicking so you dont need a big goalkicker to be successful.

If we cant find a decent trade I would play Fevola at CHF moving up to the middle. This may make him into a more team player as opposed to be the GUN FORWARD.

Brown I'll give you.
Pavlich is debatable.
Richo, Lucas, Lloyd, laughable.

I'm not for or against a Fev trade, but while your point has some merit it is also arguable that we could function reasonably effectively without Fevola.

Round 10: 21 goals kicked, 1 by Fevola.

Round 11: 22 goals kicked, 2 by Fevola.

And Brad Fisher has kicked 39 goals to date this year. So there's at least one 40 goal per year player for you.

I concede the above highlights are isolated and do not paint a consistent picture of our goal scorers, but it does show that if Fev was traded and the coach had to plan for 2008 without Fev on the list that there is evidence to suggest we wouldn't be the barren forward line you suggest.

I'm glad he's being rested for the last 2 games, he clearly wasn't right yesterday. He was double & triple teamed all day & hopefully something that we will work on as a team during the pre-season will be how to overcome this. While he has 3 players on him there are 2 of ours running around on their own somewhere. We'll need to work out how to manage that to our advantage.

The comments about Fev's lack of 2nd efforts yesterday IMO are a crock. He couldn't run anyway. He shouldn't have been on the ground in the 2nd half of the game yesterday.
