summed it up perfectly on SEN this morning.

Andy Maher.

something along the lines of

"good on lance for getting fit, but lets not pat him on the back just yet, he shouldnt need a kick up the ass to get fit, he is the captain, he is getting paid huge dollars, it shouldnt come to this for him to be in the best shape of his life, it should be a given"

and i agree, im a fan of Lance, but lets not sugar coat it, he has to do everything right, all the time.

i would like to see him at the club next year, but under very strict contract rules.

i.e. has to remain under a certain weight, has to perform to a certain standard etc.. etc.. and only if he is prepared to do that, would i consider keeping him.

well done lance for losing the weight, but it shouldnt have to come to this for you to get fit.

BV,

I'm a bit sceptical, I think there is still a lot of mateship going on at Carlton and I wouldn't be surprised if they signed up the undisciplined Whitnall for another season.
While Kernahan is around in a decision making capacity expect the worst.

Sticks has made a couple of blunders but he has also played significant parts in some of the big club turning decisions of the last 12 months.

Snagged Pratt according to Pratt. Pratt asks Sticks to join him in meeting Swan to poach him from woods. Pratt trusts Sticks with footy issues.

Do i go with Pratt..... or do i go with Rhys26.

Mate keep dreaming if you think the only reason why Dick Pratt came to the blues was because sticks kernahan asked him to.
How about some of there pearlies by sticks since being on the board and match committee
 The trading of Stephen O’Reily because we want to play SOS out at CHF
 The appointment of Denis Pagan as senior coach after winning a practice match series.
 Not willing to entertain the idea of trading players while they had currency cause they were good old carlton boys (Whitnall, Campo to name a few)
 The whole pagan saga last year.
 Endorsing fatty whitnall as captain.
 Having Barry Mitchell retained as reserves coach where there was no communication with the senior coach

Sticks was one of the very best footballers and great leaders of the Carlton footy club. He has the club best interests at heart however when it comes to making decisions for the good of the club he has failed miserably.

Can you point out any of his great footy decisions he has made in the last 7 years???

Rhys,

Sorry mate you are right Pratt is wrong and he lied when he said Sticks got him to carlton. Go down to training and tell them both what you think of them. They are gown men. They can take it.

I like all them points you made too. You must really be in know. No speculating there.

Lance, being 28 and having a degenerative knee, has no trade value. Let's not delude ourselves there. After listening to Greg Swann get interviewed before the St.Kilda game on the ABC, it's seems he's going to get another contract. What type, I don't know.

Me personally, I'd happily retire him if he's knee won't allow him to play decent footy anymore.

I think Lance has only had 8-10 chances to get his fitness right over the last half decade. That is clearly not enough. We need to trust him yet again.

I think he deserves a minimum of 20 chances to prove he is of AFL quality.

After all, didn't Corey McGrath, Luke O'Sullivan, Andrew Cavendon etc get a minimum of 15 opportunities to prove their worth when their fitness/and or prowess was questioned?

I am so glad that Lance is coming into the team - that will definitely solve the problem of us playing with just one ruckman (or bogus ruckman in ackland) ... oh hang on, lance isn't a ruckman... mmm oh well never to mind. Let's keep trying with Ackland until he plays a half decent game.

The ruck?

Who cares about the ruck now that our hero Lance is back

Another positive about it all - at least it will give clubs like Port Adelaide and Chad Cornes a further opportunity to laugh in Carlton's face as being a shite team. What's that phrase - you made your bed you better lie in it.

Carlton has made its bed and quite frankly i don't blame Chad Cornes laughing at Carlton.
