Enough talk of tanking.
Its about time Carlton was recognised for the shit team they are.
At the end of Roun 10 Carlton is outright bottom of the ladder. And deservedly so.
This is the worst list in the AFL. And to top it off Pagan does appear to have lost the players. Danny Frawley, Wayne Brittain, Peter Schwab and other shithouse coaches could have the team playing this bad and with a gameplan that does not work with the cattle out there. Who knows where to from here. But confidence in Denis Pagan is very low.
The high draft picks will be awarded on merit to carlton for consistent displays of medocrity and incompetence.

I knew it was only a matter of time before other supporters cracked and had had enough. :) I gave up feeling frustrated in Round 5, much to the wrath of fellow members of this site.

I agree with much of what Abaddon is saying...

The one person who has to be held accountable is Denis Pagan. I like him as a man and a coach from what he's achieved, and I'm glad he's with the club for a few years, but his gameplan is about as fresh as Kevin Sheedy's breath.

Have we as a supporter base become so comfortable with the ineptitude on display that we're willing to overlook the stark reality of our predicament?

I thought we were far too demanding for that, but consistent failure over time probably does lower your expectations.

If DP isn't to be accountable for how the cattle plays, who should be? Libba? :) :)

Ununsual year, in theory we could be out of the bottom 4 outright next week, even though we're outright on the bottom currently

Tekno, you can only keep telling yourself "they're not really that bad", or "they're just not playing well" for so long... Before you can't believe the lie any longer.

10 home and away games vs 4 wizz fizz cup games. But some people are still caught up on the March premiers.

The thing is as well Abaddon is that even if we do accept the reasons "they are just not playing good right now, but its a matter of time"...

Who's responsibility is it to ensure a team which is not playing good "right now" for certain reasons, turns it around?

Pagan needs to run through the team and stir the pot.

Build the nucleus around Fevola, French (for now), Lappin, Stevens and Thornton. They are the untouchables along with Kouta but he's only here for a short time longer. Everyone else gets with the plan or is expendable.

That's my opinion anyway. Everyone else has theirs and I'm fine with that too.

how good would this be:

finish last (4 wins) = 1 and 2 picks in the national draft
trade campo = pick 10 - 12
trade lance = maybe first round pick
trade Houla = first round pick
pre season draft = Dal Sant, Power, Dean Brogan or a Geelong gun

now it might be wishfull thinking but thats 5 picks in the top 20, a gun player in the PSD and young talented players to go with Walks, Russel, Hartelett, Betts, Waite, T-bird, Livo, Stevo and Fev in one year we could rebild this side and next year maybe pick up another 2 young talented players.

Yes it is wishful thinking. Noone is going to give us a first round pick for Campo. He's what? 30 now?. If we're lucky campo will retire at the end of the year.

I hope we can trade for one more first round pick this year but can't see where it will come from unless we can get one for Whitnall. Maybe the Bulldogs??

Very wishful thinking. None of those will get you even a second round pick.

Campo could be the difference for teams like the Demons, Saints and Port winning a flag and a first round pick could be worth it to those clubs.

You tell me how the hell is Ottens worth two first round picks, experianced seasoned finals players like Campo and even Lance he would slot nicely into the siants foward line can make a difference between going that next step. The saints could lose robert harvet and frankie peckert this year Lance and Campo would just fit in nicely

Ottens is 5 years younger and a key position player. Similar to Lance but we couldn't get much for him. Maybe Saints would want Campo but I can't see them giving up much for him at 30/31.

Well we hung on untill round 10...but we're home again. If cream always rises to the top...then what are we...?

I absolutely hate the feeling of losing...but deep down i know we need to do it to keep on keeping on.. this season and next season are critical, and will define our next 10 years...
The bottom of the ladder is a sad and lonely place. I feel really shallow, empty, pissed off, All of the above...i feel like im home again.

PS: would everyone get off Prenders back...he played well today, he did some vital things for the team that i think some of you people dont notice...he is still developing a bit, but he has a footy mind...and that, according to denis, is 90% of what football is about...

Campo will probably stay on not much.(no interest)
Lance will probably go.. second rounder or player that we might need.
Dal Santo isnt leaving StKilda...
Brogan wont be leaving Port...

There are other fish to fry......

Hopefully we dont win more than 20 points......
