Oh yes, don't you remember the "winning culture" we instilled in our youngsters in 2004? You can still see the confidence flowing through their veins. Don't worry about the two wooden spoons that followed, it's all part of a master plan  :P

Proof that we tanked yesterday was when Jason Saddington was moved back onto Rocca. O'Hailpin was doing too good a job and we risked winning the game. And Saddo was moved back onto Rocca. Was pretty funny to watch and it was obvious as...Btw, I am a pro tanker...proud to admit it.

I give up. There's no getting through to you people so I'm not going to waste any more of my time trying to convince you that if you wish that a Carlton team loses a game, you're not a Carlton supporter.

Enjoy cheering our boys to defeat. I'm sure they appreciate it.

Everybody knows that 2004 set us back 8 years. We could've had Franklin, won 9 games in 2005 and kissed Murphy and Gibbs goodbye.

That's how simple it is. Simple, really. Simple.

You're about three years too late trying to argue with the pro-tankers. ;)

We will have to tank to lose to Essendon* and Melbourne who both look dead in the water. I think we are a chance against Port if they don't show up like they did yesterday and when we beat them at home. The tankers should strap in and load up on Prozac because it's going to be a bumpy ride.

The simple fact of the matter is if we win another game or two then we don't deserve the number one pick.

Don remember the draft penalties.
We have some ground to make up.The draft was bought in to stop clubs like us opening the cheque book so we need to take advantage while we can.You can still go along each week and look for the development in the youngsters. That is still being a Carlton supporter.
Anyway i think we will beat Essendon* and Melb.

 If we get 1 and 3 this year we have well and truely surpassed any negative effects of the draft penalties.

Pick 1
Pick 1
Pick 1
Pick 2
Pick 3
Pick 4
Pick 9

All AFTER the draft penalties.

If we don't eclipse Brisbane's 3 in a row before 2013 we are a basket case and the equal of the losing culture we parrot on about St Kilda.

I also think it's safe to say most here would rather Gibbs and Murphy than Goddard and Wells.

What about Franklin, Tambling and Deledio instead of Murphy, Kennedy and Gibbs?

No need for the Form Fours!

It's just so simple!

I don't know why people are even discussing tanking anyway!

We will definitely beat both Essendon* and Melbourne and are a strong chance to also beat Pt Adelaide and the Kangaroos if we continue to paly the way we have over the past few weeks.

Playing a modern style of football and with players being used to their strengths (eg. I have no doubt Ratten wants O'hailpin at FB but with Ackland playing so poorly he had to keep throwing him in the ruck) we have at the moment a pretty decent list with a lot of upside.

It is amazing what can happen when the coach has the players on side.

Imagine the team that played yesterday and add Anderson, Kennedy, Hartlett, Stevens, Aisake and Cloke (replacing Ackland, Saddington, Bannister etc)and there is a lot to get excited about.

Add a number three pick (midfielder) to the mix (remember Judd was No. 3) and possibly an established star and with improvement in midfielders (where the game is won) like Murphy, Gibbs, Carazzo, Simpson, Jackson, Betts, Scotland, Grigg, Russell, Blackwell, Bentick (?) and Walker I think there is a lot to be excited about. Especially since the av. age is about 21.

This will also take enormous pressure off our defence and then I think you will see the likes of Bower, Thornton etc live up to their potential.

The only reason we got beaten yesterday is at vital times Fraser gave his midfield first use of the ball. If we had a half decent ruckman (Hampson will be very good but is two years away) we would have won.

So to all true Carlton supporters I say "forget the priority pick' and lets get back to the way Carlton should always be and that is intent on winning every match.

Nothing less is acceptable!!!!!!!!!

I hate this tanking idea and was sure we weren't going to until last week. Then, in an ABC interview before the St.Kilda game, our CEO Greg Swann said that it was more important for the club going forward to shore up the playing list and he said that included getting picks 1 & 3. Hence a very young list was going to be played for the rest of the season. He used the fact that given the system was in place clubs would be encouraged to use it.

George, you could have at least linked to the article on the Carlton site. ;)
