Not too keen on all white. There is no contrast.
Even a lighter blue colour on the borders would give the middle info
table more prominence.
#CCCCFF or #9999FF
I dont like our new white jumper either.

Thanks for the feedback.

I will get rid of the underlines and look into the other suggestions. Will continue to tweak the look of the page a bit.

If you do prefer the old look anyone who is a registered member just needs to go into their preferences page at:

http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-user_preferences.php

choose the 'General Preferences' tab

the under Theme: in the drop down menu choose the dblue theme, then press the change preferences button.

This should change the look back to the old model.

:-D

What is the "new" theme called? I seem to be defaulting back to the "dblue" theme.

The new theme name is tikineat.

If anyone else is defauling back to the old theme let me know, might give me an idea of what the problem might be?

Like the layout, just haven't commented before.

However: I have a question.

Just browsing around just now, as you do, lucked into a page for a George Johnson and a George S Johnson in the random pages.

http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-index. ... %20Johnson
http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-index. ... %20Johnson

Problem. They are the same player.

Is there a way to merge/delete pages so anomalies like this are avoided?

Good pick-up...interesting that after so many sweeps of the site we still have such an anomaly. I guess we still have some orphan pages in there as well that I haven't deleted yet.

I can fix up quickly with some relabelling etc. but I can't help but think that George 'S' was added for some reason. Why would we add a middle initial?

Mols....according to my records....there is only one George (Sidney "Mallee") Johnson having played for Carlton.

1905-09....90 games....29 goals.

Born 31-05-1879......179cms and 80 kgs.

He was labelled "A big man"............

Any Adobe Flash experts out there willing to give the Blueseum a hand?

I would LOVE it if someone could reproduce something for the Blueseum similar to the scrolling bar with the years on this page: http://museum.philadelphiaeagles.com/

If anyone can help out please let me know.

As long as it doesn't turn into the Flash-heavy, mish-mash of crud that is the AFL website.

I don't like flash used in the guts of website.

I generally think it is most useful as a tool for menus and stupid postcards.

Can look great when used for navigation of a site.

I cant see any scrolling line.
You can do that kind of thing with Javascript. I dont know whether it is as good as the flash.

Stupid postcards, yes. Navigation of a site? No way.

Good navigation is the key to a good site. Stick to using the most standard, easily accessible methods for it. If even 1 or 2 percent of users can't access the navigation for whatever reason then they're shut out completely.

Sorry mordan, should have been more specific. Not navigation of a whole site but specialist navigation needs such as a quick way to provide links to over 100 years of footy.

I have just added some CFC logos to the heading bars on the main page. What does everyone think, OK or blah?

Looks good I reckon. Nice touch, and nice play on the history of the club as well.

It can be done in Javascript, but I would have to activate a special mod to make javascript useable on the site. The main problem with that though is security as it is then possible for someone to introduce malicious code on the site using javascript.

Some more stuff is starting to come in directly from the clubs archives. This is the latest, a fantastic picture of the 1913 team.

Great pic! Why is the dude in the middle front row wearing a different guernsey?

It was a bit of a transition period for the jumper and not every player wore the same jumper. This happened for many of the teams in the league.

Another pic, the 1952 U19's team.

Elephant stamp to anyone who can pick out Mr Richard Pratt.
