Got to nominate Conundrum who is a regular here on TC.

It was his two year old sons birthday yesterday ... Conundrum takes the day off like the good dad he is ... does he take his boy to the movies ? the zoo ? luna park ? Mcdonalds ? for a ride on a mini train ... no, none of that ... he instead takes him to watch the mighty blues train at MC Labour Park ... got to hand it him ... a great dad and a great Carlton supporter.

That sort of stuff should be encouraged by the club.

Even though we do not play games down there anymore it is still important to take the kids down to PP as often as you can. My kids are too young to have seen a game there, but they have been to some training sessions and family days etc. and are very familiar and comfotable with the place.

Really important so that they have a stronger connection with the club.

Can't wait for my daughter to be older so that I can introduce her to the joys of being a Carlton supporter. She's only 1yr old, 12 more months should be enough to take her to MC Labour Park I think...

lets hope our ressies happen next season and we can all take the youngsters on to the hallowed turf for a kick and also to point out some famous spots in history (Braddles goal, Minton-Connells goal, where the worlds fasted scoreboard was, where the world's longest urinal was, where the pie stall that caught fire was, my seat in the Heatley Stand etc etc!!)

Mmm..extending the birthday club idea.

My kids are always stoked to get the "Carlton" birthday card ...

It's sort of something different as it's always the usual suspects (folks, grandparents)

A birthday club "Train and buy merchandise " group at training sessions could be the "ideal" birthday party

Well thank you Dadadadada. Given our lack of success in recent times and the threat of external influences ie classmates, I have to work overtime in ensuring my boys live and breathe Carlton. Unlike when I was growing up where I got to taste success, my five year old has seen us win on average 25% of the games in his lifetime. I don't want us to lose out on a future generation, so frequent visits to the club helps give them a sense of belonging. My five year old is true blue so I have redirected my attention to my 2 year old. We should neer underestimate the role of football in strengthening the bond between parents and their kids.
