Yeah begging to win is a bit much, but hoping that 1 extra early pick will set us up for 10 years to come is fool hardy too!!

IF (and its a big if), we beat the Pies with the team picked tonight (full to the brim of young talent) and end up beating the Dons and Dees as well (certainly easier games than the pies), with the young guys and with young ruckmen coming through ie. Aisake etc. Are you seriously saying we dont have the list to climb back up the ladder.

Whos to say that if we pick up Kreuzer and after 3 years of him developing and starting to become a champ, he gets cut down with injury like Kouta? Surely our list will have more riding on it than 1 ruckman.

We will pick up talent in the draft whether we get PP or not. And to compare the 2004 10wins as a good example indicates that you have no real understanding of how different (better) the club is set up now than back then, and how much better this list is and how much improvement this group can make.

All the tankers are placing their hopes on 1 extra early pick, sorry but that is laughable. It takes at least 28 players to make a successful run at the flag, players that play with spirit, passion and a will to win, players who will not rely on one player to make it happen.

Its all about the winning culture - nothing succeeds like success.

Those 10 wins we had in 2004 are priceless (in particular the woody creating win in Round 22 versus The Filth) and the character, experience and impetus it gave to those players about 8 of whom are no longer on our list.

flower the immediate pleasure of a win I want long term benefits. I want a priority.. Im worried we might win this weekend........ Im on my knees hands up in a praying motion hoping for another honorable loss....

Call me crazy, but I actually hope we get that priority pick. The years of pain have worn me down, and losses don't faze me as much as they used to. What does faze me is a list which I can't see challenging for finals in 3-5 years.

From what I've heard, Kreuzer is rated as highly as Leuenberger was, and the talent drops off considerably after he goes at #1. With #1 & #3, we can pick up Kreuzer and perhaps Cotchin, a good ruckman and a good midfielder. And then hopefully, we manage to pick up Alex Rance, who I've heard is a fantastic prospect at full-back, something we're desperately crying out for. Can you imagine that? Kreuzer in the ruck, Cotchin on the ball, Rance down the back, all in one draft. It certainly won't be a miracle cure for what our club has been through, but it certainly will be a good start.
