Kouta, thanks for all the wonderfull memories you have given to the football world and you will be remembered not just as a Carlton great, but a true champion of the game.

So sad is it to see that your body has denied you one last farewell, just as it has denied you a charlie and a position as being the greatest player ever. You have been an absolute gentleman on and off the field and a roll model for all the kids with the number 43 on their back.

May you life after footy be blessed with happiness and your service the the Carlton Football Club be Honoured for all time to come.

We will miss you. :(

They called him the prototype of what a modern footballer should be.

Lethal wanted a team of Kouta's and yet, we were the only team priviledge enough to have had him play.

Will miss his one handed pick ups, his exquisite body that sometimes let him down.

We all know that if lady luck was on his side, he would have won a Brownlow as well as another Premiership.

There is only one Koutaman and he played for the Old Dark Navy Blues.

I am going to miss you, you magnificent Greek Adonis!

Absolute Champion of the Club.

Pride of place in my office is a photo of Kouta with my young son, Brendon. Brendon as usual couldn't keep still, Kouta was really good with him and we actually got a decent photo.

A genuinely nice bloke who could really play football. There ain't many of them around these days.

Thanks Kouta.

This is such a sad day for me. I truly love that man and will miss him more than anything. One of the most honest and genuine footballers ever to play the game.

With that said.,.....................i am launching a full-on hate letter to one Mr. Danny Frawley after he gave Kouta 2 votes for 'worst on ground' in saturday's match against the Saints......

ATTN:- MR. FRAWLEY.......................

HE WAS INJURED YOU DUMB SHIT!

Sorry............i was just really pissed of with that and to be honest, i'm not in a good mood.

Don't worry Ryan - no gave a shite what Frawley thinks anyway.

You and I know what the Koutaman is like and Frawley can go stand in a corner and contemplate the failure that he is!

The word champion is thrown around willy nilly sometimes... but not in this mans case..... he is a champion of the club and for mine will go down as one the our best players ive seen. He was robbed of a brownlow that season ( i think it was 2000 ).... champion and a very humble one at that.

Your a legend Kouta! And will always be one of my favourites.

Good luck Hollywood ( as i like to call him )

To all the Carlton faithful Kouta will be driven around the ground before the game against the filth this weekend. So every Kouta lover get down to the game and lets give Kouta the farewell he deserves...to the players I say DO IT FOR KOUTA!!

The real sad point was made earlier. It's the first time since 69 that we haven't had a Premiership player run around in a game.

That would be 68.

nah - it be 69. In 68 there were no premiership players playing (until the final siren anyway  )

While he wasn't exactly a 'home grown Carlton Premiership player at the time, I am pretty sure that one R.D. Barrassi won Premierships for Melbourne prior to his coming to Carlton so 68 is not exactly true either.

Ahhhh Kouta :( :(

You were one of those once in a lifetime players you gave us great joy when you were on top of your game, I was just so thankful that you played for my team. :-D

You're a true gentleman and thanks for putting up with us in the 90's, actually not only putting up with us but being genuine and welcoming.

Goodbye great man, and good luck in the future.
Another Carlton great, who if it wasnt taken by another former great, the tag "dominator" would have summed up the highlights of his career very well.
