Sounds like you want to sterilise TC. God knows why. Threads like this are what attract people here.

People are attracted by others coming here with any scrap of evidence or news they can find and drawing wild conclusions from it?

At least Synbad was accurate more times than not when he was providing exclusives.

Fred Jones signing up yesterday would be saying right now "who the @#$%&! is synbad?". People come here for news and gossip about Carlton. That's what drives this site.

You brad, constantly put down threads that other people start, whilst normal people are delighted to sign up and read this sort of stuff.

I 'put down' threads that I believe don't add anything or aren't necessary. It stems greatly from having to trawl through them all and merge half of them.

I'm sure most people sign up before they read them and I think you'd be surprised at how many people aren't delighted to read them.

Big deal. You are always wading into threads with some comment like "great thread this". If you weren't so obssessed about merging threads every five minutes perhaps you would enjoy yourself instead of having a go at people trying to start conversations.

This site is not all about "stuff" and nonsense. The "I'm pissed off you started this thread because it means I have to merge it with another" mentality is tired and tedious. Do it if that is what management directs, but STFU and stop complaining about it.

Go through the bunch of fantastic threads you've started and see how great you are.

Why haven't you merged this thread if it is causing you so much angst? You haven't actully contributed to it other than your "great thread this" comment.

Well, I suppose that's all you have to contribute. Surprised? Not!

Do you contribute at all to football talk?

i think verbs is onto something

i think you'd find a lot of people like reading this stuff

its when contexts get lost because numerous ideas and tangents are merged under one umbrella that make things tedious to read.

the OP was just reporting something he saw and seeing as a lot of people on here weren't there im sure it was appreciated by many.

sure it was a bit sensationalised - but thats human nature - its what sells papers, makes people watch the news and drives the media juggernaut - it creates interest - people like controversy

not every thread can be a boring dry report

It's just a pity donstuie didn't realise the bald guy was Hanna. But who would know straight away they are looking at Milham Hanna? Not sure I would.

It's not about lying Don. It's what makes these sorts of places so attractive. The info might not always be accurate, but it's interesting and genuine and based on real life observations.

Well let me tell you now, and anyone else who gives a crap, that EVERY word I have spoken in this thread has been the truth.

I don't know what they talked about, I just know that I saw Sticks at the casino wednesday morning with a bunch of guys in suits. I had NO IDEA what they were there for.

There was also a bald guy at the casino war table, nowhere near where Sticks and these other guys were. He was not with Sticks. Let me repeat that: HE WAS NOT WITH STICKS

Other than some guy in a suit urging him to come with him and his stubborn refusal, I didn't pay him any mind. I did feel he had a familiar looking face, but I didn't join the dots. It was only reading the original post here, talking about how Sticks, Diesel (who I don't remember seeing), Mil Hanna, and some other guys in suits, were seen at the casino, that it dawned on me that that guy must have been Mil. The evidence seemed to fit.

I can't tell you whether Sparky heard what he heard, but I can tell you what I saw and how that relates. I'm not here to create some entertaining story for people to talk about, I'm just here telling people what I saw because I thought it might have some relevance. So everyone can continue to believe whatever the hell they want for all I care. I just know what I saw.

Maybe you should put a list up of the posters who are allowed to start rumour threads here without receiving the mod's scorn then.

Great thread this.

How come?

Whats the point to it?

Do we really need to know?

It reeks of someone overhearing a few words and putting 2 and 2 together to come up with 5.

Why were they only noticed when voices were raised? Sparky being a Carlton supporter surely would have noticed a bald Mil Hanna standing with Sticks.

I doubt Hanna is nieve enough to believe the search for a new coach has only just begun.

First of all Brad, fair call - but isn't the point of this forum to post things relating to Carlton?!

If you have anything to say in relation to my posts, why not address me personally? Putting 2 and 2 together and posting exactly what i saw unfold are poles apart mate, like I said in my post I was only posting what I'd seen - and for you to make of it what you will... as for why they were only noticed when voices were raised, I don't know if you've been in the Mahogany room before but unless you are a 'guest' or only visit to look out for identities you don't really pay attention to people at other tables.

At least I don't start up threads with the intent of bagging the coach with a one-liner, denouncing players for no good reason, further pushing the pro-tanking cause or showing pictures of my cat Mittens*.

If you'll look at my 500 odd other posts (or if you happened to have read any of the 1,500 plus that I'd posted on TBV) you'd know that I don't post simply for the sake of posting bullcrap - so in questioning my accuracy I don't really see what you find false about it? Why not debate instead of 'great post this'?!

Whether the info is true or not (which is ALWAYS up for debate) - as is voiced by some other posters on this site, people love reading this stuff... they only hate it when a thread degenerates into a slanging match much like the one in this thread you have played a part in.

Off-topic, merging threads has always been a Mod's whim, but in the past year or so the amount of threads that are loosely connected being chucked onto one big general topic melting pot... regardless of necessary or otherwise - all these posts/threads have something. Content. And guess what - with content TC wouldn't exist.

(* - doesn't exist.)
