I certainly don't have a problem with having an untried coach either. How many premiership coaches of the last 10 years have coached at senior level elsewhere first? Matthews only. Every other premiership coach was at their first club as coach.really) I :?

Malcolm Blight. Malthouse and Parkin 4 years before that too.
The rest had all served assitant coaching roles, so they were not as "Untried" as Vossy.

I am not against getting Voss. In fact, he's one of my top 3 choices. But there is a risk factor that hasnt existed for a while.

But EB has got it right. Let Swann talk to the candidates and sort it out.

I'm not super impressed with Voss either as a public speaker either
Lets just hope he is able to get his message across to the playing group
I'm in the Chris Bond/ McKenna camp myself but who the hell am I to judge?
Will be an interesting few months..

If Ratten wins 3-4 games then the club should have him hung, drawn and quartered for giving up the priority pick!
No way. He coaching possibly for his career if he wants a job at another club. If he was to have 6 losses he'd probably be done for life as a senior coach, tanking or not. He won't be tanking. If we wanted to tank we'd have kept Pagan.

..now, about what Voss brings to the club regarding sponsoers etc etc.. ..how he'll bring football cred and respect and leadership to the club which will improve our brand.. ..if he's signed already, what happens if he's found guilt of assault..?.. ..that court case is coming up soon, why sign him up before the case goes to court..?..

You should go place a bet ... money for nothing ..............
The more you bet on this happening the more money youll make!!!.. quick!!!.. to the TAB...
You don't see the word "theoretically". It's actually there. Put the glasses on and you will see it. I just asked the question. Not looking a stupid answer.

We do play Esendon and Melbourne in that time.

You are almost always on the money Josh, you must have serious connections on the inside. But in this case, I hope your sources are off target.

You will have a better understanding on whats about to happen next week.
Pratt wants the best man for the job.
If thats Voss .. he will be that man!!!.. if its not Voss... the answer will lie elsewhere...

Gerry, I'll be happy if Voss gets the job if we really have been going through a proper process and he's considered the best applicant but we're screwed if we start making decisions about coaching positions based on what's best for the "marketability" of the club and not who's best for the position.

The best marketed club in the league over the last 10 years (from which Greg Swann hails) still can't win a @#$%&! flag.

Voss may be the greatest coach of the next 20 years or he may be a complete dud.

I just hope our reasons for hiring him are the right ones.

If they follow the process and look at everyones resume correctly then Sheedy will be the next coach of Carlton- I dont want Sheedy I depise him more than Pagan - Sheedy is opposition .

There appears to be a lot of talk about Voss with justification he has a good background . Its the names that are linked with him that are a concern particually Frawley - I could handle Brittain

I think the coach will come out of left field myself maybe all this talk about Voss - Mckenna - Daniher is just to throw the other clubs off and the real bloke they are after is out of the lime light

Don't count out McKenna just yet guys...Remember he and Swann worked very closely at criminalwood and Swann has a very high opinion of him...from what I have heard is that Bluey has become favourite over Voss...Swann wants him at Carlton...

Only if your criteria included needing an elderly lunatic as a coach.

Greg Denham from the Australian said on SEN this morning that the Voss ticket was to include Frawley, and that conditions of their tenure would be to trade the likes of Fev.

Greg Denham's hardly the most respected footy journalist out there (hence working for the Australian).

Guys, remember who we've got running the Club right now... Pratt, Swann and Icke are a far cry from Smorgon, Malouf and Sticks.
Be sure that no one, and I repeat NO ONE is going to pull the wool our our eyes from now on.
