Dont be surprised if there is a big trade involving an untouchable player during trade week.

It wouldn't be 'buying' the captaincy with either of those two guys.

While it's 100-1 that either would come, if they did join the club they'd pretty much be automatic selections for the captaincy anyway.

Lance or Judd.... hmmm.... lemme think about that one.

It's a pity that the two years we had No.1 pick in the pre-season draft were wasted on us. With the previous administration, all we could lure to the club was McLaren and Ackland. You'd think given the way we're setting up now, we'd have a real crack at convincing a decent player to nominate for the PSD if we had the first pick.

Fevola, Scotland, Thornton definite trade bait.

Could Murphy be put up to trade for Judd?

Has anyone noticed that Judd seems to be injured a lot lately?
Maybe to much is being asked of him.
He's lost that explosiveness, can't play that way forever.Just a thought :!:

Judd's still a good player, even when he is injured.

Perhaps we get Judd in the second phase of his career...

He's not just pace. He's got smarts and skills, too.

Didn't a certain foundation club, based in the inner northern-suburbs of Melbourne, lure a player from interstate and offer him the captaincy during the 1980s; a captain who went on to be the longest serving captain in the League?

I'm happy if Stevens is madee captain but if offering the captaincy would in any way interest players like Judd or Pavlich to come over the Blues then I'm all for it. I somehow doubt it, and I somehow doubt that we've made any such offer.

Weren't we supposed to have made the same offer to Nick Stevens when he was out of contract at Port?

I just feel that there will be a big trade involving a big name player, who we consider untoucheable right now. I Dont know any more than that.

Ive actually mentioned this before on a number of occassions.

Now, its hypothetical only - but Id say do able..

Take the Fevola / Judd possibility :

Judd is injured a lot and has a form problem at the Eagles. Fevola has issues here at Carlton and could use a fresh start. Eagles need a forward and we need a good leader - There are probably others as well...this one though is the kind of thing I envisage..

There was an in-depth report on WA's GWN last night covering this very issue. A picture of Pavlich and Judd superimposed over the Carlton logo with the presenter banging on about us buying players.

Further concrete evidence was added with a direct quote from Sticks:
"There's a lot going on at the moment". Sounds definitive to me.

Naturally they managed to veer off to their usual favourite topic, the Eagles, all in one 'news' segment.

I love investigative journalism.

Judd is seen as a god by many of the football public and those involved with the game.

If he came to Carlton the playing group would be energised enormously. He would be captain regardless of any offers, no noses would be put out of joint all players would look at him as the leader of the club as soon as he walked through the door (or ascends from heaven, whichever he finds more convenient).

If Cousins has a very good finish to the season, the weagles might be that little more likely to consider the Fev/Judd swap if it is on the table.

We will have the currency. We will have picks 1 and 3 and also have Fevola to trade.

But every club will be chatting to Pavlich and Judd, so it's not like we're unique in this regard.

What did the Ch7 report say? Did it go like this "Apparently it has been reported that Judd and Pavlich have been offered the captaincy to come to Carlton". :P
