Could it be a case of "people power" ala Roos a few years ago with the selection of Ratten as coach?

Well at least he new some of the other young players on the list other than Murphy and Gibbs :)

At least the Kids will get a good run and thats all we can ask for and am sure they will really apreciate the oppertunity.

End of the Day I still think Voss is very strong prospect for the Blues with Mckenna and Ratts definately in the mix

And after the Pagan Nightmare all 3 look to be breath of fresh air

Lets see how he goes, I think people will really like his style and the freshness he brings to Carlton.

As was stated on a Demons thread, he must be a good coach because his head is shaped like a premiership cup - people there want him too.

Shit, that was so much nicer to listen to than 'geez - no-one knows how hard we've done it... we need some more players...etc etc etc'

Finally, we have a coach who recognises that what the club needs is incremental improvement from Russell, Bower et al.

Ratts is more than a breath of fresh air. He's CPR.

His son is 8 years old and helped talk him into taking on the caretaker role :-D Sounds like a future captain

He talked with alot of passion and about bringing back the spirit within the playing group. Also said that over the next 6 weeks that there will be youngsters making debuts and also wanting 2 see the kids enjoying playing and giving high fives after they kick goals mainly about SPIRIT. Wants supporters 2 see signs of improvement in youngsters ie: Bower and Russell just mentioned them as an example. Will find it hard changing game plans within 6 weeks. He sounded like he just wants 2 give the kids every chance 2 show there worth and just play footy with SPIRIT and passion for the jumper.

Is it my imagination or is he the complete antithesis of Pagan? He almost worked the camera as well as Graham Kennedy in his prime - a real natural.

Big Pond does not work in China - the audio link was fine.

Sounded impressive!

I was actually surprised how well he spoke. They weren't just short answers someone who may have felt uncomfortable might give. He shrugged his shoulders a bit though.
