okay so Denis is gone, I think after the last 5 weeks most of us thought it should happen, yet so many want to lose the remaining games for that first pick.

So this is a bad.

If Denis is as much to blame as some write then this side will quickly turn it around and Melbourne are gone for sure, but so might one to two others - hell we might win 6 or 7 games this year!

Should we then sack Ratts if we win one or two games? Has he hurt the club, murdered our chances, set us back decades, ruined our hopes, lost the chance to salvage something from this year?

Should his name be struck off the boards, stripped off the locker eradicated from the history books (and the Blueseum)?

and what if he fails to win any games?

What if the saints smash us by 100 points this weekend and the team spirals into 7 filthy losses?

Does that mean Ratts has lost the players?

Can't coach?

Should be sacked on the spot?

What if we manage to lose every game by 5 points? Does thta make Ratts a genius? Install him as coach. Give him 5 years?

What if Ratts promotes Teague

or if he drops Houla and ruins any chance of getting a trade for him

or promotes Jacobs and we still get smashed out of the ruck? Drop Jacobs off the list?

What do we expect now?

what do we want? (I bet the five point losses).

Is Ratts a fool for taking on this poisoned chalice?

Should Sticks have been forced to coach this mob?

what do people expect?

and how long before the wolves begin to howl

let's face it, we are a farce.
as much as it pains me losing, we can not afford one slip up...we need currency...top dollar... come trade time. we need to trade out of this mess.. i want this club playing finals football i dont want to wait till our 18-21 y.o turn 23 y.o to be consistent... we need to fill this 3-5 year void with ready made AFL players, not retreads but proven AFL players that have been in the system for five + years.

Hmmmm. Thinking short term and taking the easy, soft option.
What a great idea Winnie.

Good scotch Danny?

Easy option, I am no loser... unlike others....I want to start WINNING!!!!

I want WINS
I want LEADERSHIP
I want EXPERIENCE.

I don't want boys in nappies whom are just good enough for the Magoos playing in seniors.

alrite?

Yes, of course. Its all about you.

Fortunately those in charge of the club have the foresight to make the right decisions.
The playing list needs to be built, not thrown together to satisfy impatient supporters who dont grasp the idea of rebuilding.
You have your hasbeens and I'll be satisfied with Kruezer. We'll see who's in front in 3 years.

ahh so you're a 5 point loss man.

So if we win a game is Ratts a fiend?

Nah, not me Danny.
Ratts is there is to give opportunity and confidence.
He should play the young and enthusiastic kids and rest the players who are injured.
We should be looking to be competitive and getting gametime in to our future players.
If that results in a win or a loss, I'm not really fussed.
Is the scoreboard really the only device to measure success by?
Not in my books.

Its all about preparing for 2008 and beyond.

i stand by my theory... we need to scrap the youth policy for two years no more no less and fill gaps with PROVEN TALENT under 25 y.o...

pick 3 & russell for rooke & hunt
pick 20, whitnall & fisher for griffen & hahn [we are giving them two key proven forwards & pick 20] they are going no where without tall key forwards.

thats just year one.

much the same with year two [houlihan] ..... then we go back and draft babies in nappies that are just good enough for the magoos with potential, again.

Hunt is a gun player.....yes he can not break into gellongs defence bcause it is so bloody good.. but more often than not he is in the back six in most weeks and does his job everytime he plays.... rooke will get better...just like stevens will.. he is a gun...and we need them BOTH.

Is that the Rooke who is currently overseas with a long term hamstring problem?
Is that the Hunt who cant hold his spot in Geelongs senior side?

Pick 3 and Russell hey?
Thanks recruiting guru.

We are crying out for a ruckman and midfielders and you want to swap pick 3 for a soft back pocket and a half back flanker?

Hmmm.
Your not here for the hunting, are you Winnie?

Hunt was dropped after going turtle in a marking contest and has never recovered his spot...think we can do a bit better than that.....
We need players who will hold their ground and show the way..not more of what we already have.
I dont like losing either but I would rather take it slow with the kids and get it right....

hunt isn't soft; that's just your unlearned opinion....

fix the backline, put ampol of run, skill and hardness in the backline.

leave josh hunt back pocket.. i dont care how we get him, but we need him in the back six.

we are not going to get it right with the kids..brisbane took off after lynch, brad scott, mal michael, chris johnson, martin pike, joined the club.

sydney traded same amount of players...

west coast filled gaps with trades...

we need to do it NOW.

The last 10 years should have taught us.. there are NO shortcuts or bandaid solutions.
You MUST rebuild properly...

Draft.....

Might have helped them take off Winnie, but I think the launching pad was leppitcsh, chris Scott,Lappin, Black, Power, Brown, White, Keating, Voss Aker etc.

When we have drafted that quality, then, sure fill in a few gaps, but the reason WCE have Judd, Kerr and Cox is because they drafted them, same with Pavlich, Riewoldt Hodge, Mitchelletc etc in fact most of the franchise players
