The next Carlton coach is very likely to be the one who wins our 17th flag.

The cup will be a relief from years of suffering, but it will have a bittersweet aspect because you wont especially enjoy the events going on during time in which we win it.

And people will use the circumstances of the time that surround our victory, which have absolutely nothing to do with our club and are totally beyond our control - to denigrate and belittle our victory.

However these people will ultimately be shown to be jealous and also clutching at straws - for Carlton wins it's 17 the flag fair and square...and we will have the cup in the display cabinet - but they wont..

I guess this means Kernahan is our next coach.

Kernahan's brilliant player career fits all the criteria, so he should have the football brain and coaching nous to make it as head coach. The saddest fact is Kernahan has spent more time in a coaches box than Voss and played under three premiership coaches. Yet none of their management skills and football expertise has rubbed off onto the head of our football department.

And we expect Voss to be the saviour.
