I wonder if we might look at recruiting someone to come in and do the job. Use the captaincy as an extra carrot to dangle in front of a big-name player.

Otherwise I'd give it to O'hAilpin maybe - at least the guy shows a bit of passion for the jumper.

Stevens will almost certainly get the nod next year but Simpson stands out as the only complete player on the list.

Carrazzo and Setanta have good qualities but are still behind the other two and Murphy/Gibbs need to establish themselves before being burdened with real leadership.
