There's no way that I want to finish last, if we finish last on merit then ok we finish last but doesn't mean you have to want to finish last.

But how can we talk about finishing last when we're a game and a half outside the eight? Anyone can beat anyone this season, there has been enough proof of that already. All it takes is a side having a red hot crack, playing with great intensity and will to win, playing a hard brand of footy.

I want us to win every game for the rest of the season, no it won't happen but I'll still be there cheering us on every week and hoping that we win because I couldn't picture it any other way.

Wooden spoon gets always a PP no matter how many games you win. Wooden spoon and less then 6 wins = 2 PP's.

Stop takin the piss....

Seriously, we're in pole position right now, this is where all teams want and need to be...@#$%&! winning a flag, we have a chance to win a PP and wooden spoon....up yours St Kilda, Geelong, Melbourne and West Coast!!

Based on our list for tomorrow's game I'm going through the players to see which player would get a game for any team that is currently sitting in the top 4.
Andrew Carrazzo 44 - No chance
Luke Livingston 4 - No chance
Bret Thornton 32 - Possibly
Kade Simpson 6 - No chance
Lance Whitnall 8 - Possibly
Cory McGrath 20 - No chance
Simon Wiggins 34 - No chance
Nick Stevens 24 - Yes
Matthew Lappin 12 - Yes
Digby Morrell 3 - No chance
Jarrad Waite 30 - Yes
Scott Camporeale 16 - Yes
Adrian Deluca 26 - No chance
Brendan Fevola 25 - Yes
Eddie Betts - No
Barnaby French 11 - No
Andrew Walker 1 - No (for time being)
Anthony Koutoufides 43 - Yes
Adam Bentick 40 - No chance
David Clarke 9 - No chance
Ryan Houlihan 33 - Possibly
Ian Prendergast 28 - No chance
Trent Sporn 36 - No chance
David Teague 15 - Possible

That’s 6 with yes
4 as possibles
and 14 with no chance, no wonder that we are so uncompetitive against the tope sides.

Interested on others peoples thoughts

Bret Thornton is a walk-up in any other team, no questions.

I see you went to the Mike Sheehan school of writing an article then doing the analysis to suit

I'm sure if you looked at the bottom few at those clubs there'd be a few not much better than many of ours. It's a lot easier to play well in a good side, surrounded by good players, than in a poor side.

One positive, A Raso kicked 3 goals today for his school side and took plenty of marks

As I said earlier this week, he's going to be a star.

Hurn and Clarke to be wearing navy blue next year if the draft predictions are right. Carlton badly need a big body who is an in and under player and a 6'6" forward. Finishing last will hurt but I think it's appropriate we finally have a no .1 and no. 2 pick and get the chance to pick the eyes out of the draft. If we can do a Richmond and gain a stack of early picks  and the best out of contract player, the next few years won't be as bleak and the mood will definitely change.

This is what the so called expert Wisbey says about him and he probably sees more kids than most fans. But you have take it with a grain of salt as he compared Billy Morrison to J.Brown!

Yeh Hurn can play in the middle or up back, built like a brick shithouse, tough - will be good to see how they all go at the championships in July

Well thank goodness for that - our team is saved -

Mate - I once kicked 3 goals for my school side and I'm 5' 7" with a gut that would put Homer Simpson to shame (and I have the pace of a Jim Jarmush movie)

We are talking of finishing last (well us sensible ones) because thats where the team will finish given from what it has demonstrated over the past month.

That is why it is so frustrating to see the Blues playing without that 'sustained intensity' given the run we had in the Wizzer. If we were showing the spirit which we gave end of last season then things could be quite diifferent in terms of our placing.

Whilst I am a proud, loud and passionate blue, the last 3.5 seasons have taken a toll on me and my club. The way the system is now, you can only gets access to the best youngsters through low draft picks. Yes, the odd smoky will get through past say 30 but you need low picks. Teams who have neglected the draft process have suffered as a consequence. Mindless trades including McKernan, Murphy, Mansfield, OReilly etc. have put our team WAY behind the eightball.

The fact is that no, you dont need top 5 picks but if like us you are in dire need of young dynamic talent, it is the best way. Gellong has built a good, young squad through less prized draft selections however this has been perhaps a 6-7 year process. The 3 low picks and the 4 other 2nd/3d rounders we lost stung us.

I do not advocate simply 'tanking' games but we should be experimenting and weeding out our list and see who can play and if that means coming last im all for it
