I'll probably be roasted by some for suggesting this, but I'm going to go ahead and say that the best candidate for the job (if Denis is sacked) would be Kevin Sheedy. If he does not continue at Essendon* next year, I think he would be ideal for the club. Now of course this may just be in a mentor role for Voss, or just for a year while Voss learns the ropes. But Sheedy has an excellent track record at Essendon* and their recent woes are attributed to their success between 2000-2005 in making the finals most year, and hence never really getting any quality draft picks. Their form can't really be attributed to Sheedy's coaching, and I think considering the list they have he has done very well. Just imagine what he would do for Walker/Benjamin/Anderson.

That response could have only been more appropriate if it spelt "flower off!"

Sheedy at Carlton can never ever be treated with anything less than contempt.

I think this is actually a great idea and should be seriously considered.

i cant see the point of getting another old style coach, we need to move with the times because thats what got us into this mess in the first place!

I know, we should get that guy who used to coach North Melbourne, what was his name...

Denniss Pragan or something he used to be good too!

Walls and Carey want Sheedy to replace Laidley as coach of the Gold Coast Kangaroos.

Matthews would love having Sheedy as coach of the other Queensland side. 8)

I have no doubt Sheedy will be a valuable coach for whichever team picks him up.

Having said that...

He's on another planet and I don't wanna bar of him!

Dont mind a bit of lateral thinking and taking the emotion out of the argument of having a sworn enemy in charge there is some merit in considering Sheedy.
Sheedy is the complete package as far as experience, runs on the board, marketing of the club/football in general and has had great success with the development of young aboriginal players.
However he is another yesterday man like Pagan is and appears to be only capable now of coaching a team to mid pack status.
He is another of the old brigade who likes to do everything himself from coaching to recruiting and I think the game has moved on from this old style way of doing things...

I wouldnt be considering him and would look to a younger coach with more modern fresh ideas and one who viewed coaching as more than one individual controlling every aspect of the football dept/recruiting etc.....

Probably a better suggestion than Tom Hafey, which only got .1% of the attention this suggestion did.
