Well, if that happens we will have improved one spot on the ladder at least over 2006.
Does that mean that a #1 draft pick doesn't count for much?
Essendon* have jumped heaps more than us.
If we get the PP and according to Rohan we will, we will also get #3.
Now, who are we going to use them on? If we want Kreuzer we will have to use the PP because Richmond is slavering at the prospect of getting him.
They trumped us a couple of years ago in the PSD (fortunately) and we got Eddie so maybe it's our turn to return the favour.
Pick 3#? I want Ebert. Ready made and good size.
It is interesting to note that Rohan's ladder is based on ability or lack thereof and not tanking...

Rohan's table is based on pretty sound logic. Unless there are some really bizarre results, Melbourne will be able to win in round 22 without losing their priority pick. And we won't. Ergo, they will win.

Although it has been suggested elsewhere, I don't know that there is any benefit to the Dees in trying to out-tank us in the round 22. They won't get pick 1 regardless of what happens, and pick 2 or 3 is much of a muchness really.

Just curious..............

Now that Richmond know that it's pointless for them to finish last, they will most likley be going on an all out attack to overtake us.

Would Carlton supporters put up with another wooden spoon, our 3rd in 3 years, if it meant getting Kruzer?

Good question Ryan,

I'm not sure I could stomach another spoon. That said, I really don't see how Richmond can get another three wins to overtake us. Their coach is as bad as ours (with an even bigger drawback that the club's powerbrokers still seem to have faith in him), and they have the same lack of A-grade footballers as us. They have very little height in Key Positions, and that they do have is either too old (Richo) or being wasted by poor coaching (Polak). Call the young players a draw, and the reality is that they have as much hope of winning three games as we do.

Actually, Wallet is a hell of a lot worse than Pagan. Sedat has said for years here that Tanning Salon Terry doesn't rate big men, and ran down the Bulldogs' list, and now, according to Wallsy, he's doing the same to Richmond with their drafting/recruiting policy: Tigers caught short in Draft

Thats crazy. Simmons and Polak were the 2 big trades that the Tanned one chased. Look at the Bulldogs team and see how many of the players were from Terry's time 4 years ago, still a lot.

If we beat the Dees they get #2 guaranteed as we won't have the priority and they will stay below us. If they beat us not only do we get the PP, we also push them up to pick 4 and in a shallow draft that could mean the difference between Kosi and Livingston  .

Best case for Melbourne is to get thrashed each week pushing their % right down below us.
That way when they win the Rd22 game they will still sit 15th and get the no3 pick.
Only problem with that is mean we cannot get thrashed but considering our last 3 games have been 100, 77 and 61 points Melbourne will need to lose by 80 points a game.

to say Wallace is worse then Pagan is a terrible comment, we are talking about coaching ability and not personalities here.

Thinking back to tigers fans putting that massive spoon in front of PP makes me want them to get it regardless of the consequences

A lot of the players still there predated Wallet too, West - Grant - Darcy - Johnson etc

Guys like Gilbee and McMahon were average flankers in his and Rohde's time before Eade made them into good players. It's a bloody long bow to draw to give him credit for where the Dogs are at now considering he left 5 years ago

Budzy, after the last 5 years, we now need to hire 1 per player and coach.

Rohan is being extraordinarily kind to St Kilda in this analysis.

I would be afraid to log onto TC if we lose the last game and miss the PP . . .

Such horror you cannot imagine

I would.

If we are fair dinkum, really fair dinkum, as I have said many times before, both premierships and wooden spoons do not mean as much in a competition where each team doesn't play each other twice.

Better to win the premiership than not win it? Of course. But not as valid as in times gone by.

Broken record. Whining. Whinging. Fact. Call it what you will.

The AFL, as a true competition, is a joke. It is unfair before the first ball is bounced at the start of the season. Blind Freddy could see that.

Might as well reap the rewards on offer for finishing last.
