Lance needs it lace out and gift wrapped..Hall, Tredrae, Brown, Reiwoldt dont..thats why they are worth the 500K a year and Lance isnt.
Compared to them he is a 150K a year player only...any player who is on 500K with us has to be as good as the opposing teams 500K players and thats how it is.

We cant afford a fair weather 500K a year CHF...who only plays well when the midfield are dishing it down his throat.

He is and has been a major dissapointment ......

Reckon those that you named Elwood would struggle a fair bit if the ball was delivered to them the way ours is entering the forward line at the moment, also they do not keep getting thrown back to shore up the defence.

Note the last time we had a dominate midfield Lance was AA.

He hasnt played a good game in that long???...

Mark.. Lance has serious problems and he just isnt a modern age footballer.
His body cant do what is required.

His major probelm is between the ears...
He is more comfy doing all the taboo things professional athletes shouldnt be doing.

He would have been perfect in the 80s...
Unfortunately he has run his dash.. (so to speak)

You cant defend a guy who is always overweight.
You cant defend a guy who plays bugger all great games.

You just cant defend a guy who was under 100kgs in the Wizzer cup and is now way over... and the MC have to get stuck into him to lose weight again....

Thats just piss poor... he only has himself to blame.

Lance cant blame me for being overweight and crap!!!

He gets paid well to be fit ...

'Mens Sana In Corpore Sano' ... just doesnt embody Lance is it?

Those 4 mentioned, Mark, can also take pack marks and are not one trick ponies.

The strengths of those 5:

Hall - quick, imposing/intimidatory, straight kick, takes a contested mark
Brown - more imposing, takes a contested mark, very intimidatory, reasonably accurate kick, demands the football
Riewoldt - quick, takes a contested mark, reasonable kick, demands the football
Tredrea - quick, powerful, kicks with both feet, takes a contested mark, powerful presence

Football smarts are common to all 4, but not as good as Whitnall granted.

But can Whitnall take a contested mark? Haven't seen many if any lately
Is Whitnall quick? No.
Is Whitnall an intimidating and powerful presence who demands the football up forward? I'd say no.
Is Whitnall a straight kick? Reasonable but no better than the others mentioned.

He lacks the weapons of a true CHF. We at Carlton look at Walls, Kernahan, Maclure - and then we look at Whitnall.

Sorry Mark, can't agree with you here re: Whits and I'm in the Elwood camp.

Synbad I was standing about 3 feet from Lance on Saturday and I had a good look at his body weight ( because somebody had said he was fattening up) and if he is more than 10% body fat I will bear my butt in Bourke St. But if you can show me the pre-season and current charts I would more than happy to reconsider my position.

10% body fat on an elite athlete is alot...
Also... these are the people who have publicly said Lance just hasnt been fit enough this year alone.. Denis Pagan.. Carey... Lappin...

If Lance was standing out in the outer eating a pie with you and i noone would care...
The problem is Lance is an AFL footballer... he isnt in shape... you cannot say that he is in the same condition as he was in the Wizzer...Can you???
Is he running back to the backline and taking telling marks..???... running up and down the park creating space for Fev and linking up with the midfield???

in the words of the great John McEnroe.. "You cannot be serious!!!"

If thats as fit as Lance can get Mark..and thats the best flexibility.. pace and movement he can get to... well he is gone!!!There is no room for a statues in modern day footy.. even if the statue has a brain..

Lances days are numbered.

The recommended body fat % for an elite footballer is between 8 and 10% any lower and you suppress the immunity system and they get sick.

The elite athletes you are talking about are Olympic distance runners and gymnasts and they are natually thin and then they only go down below 8% for competition only, during training they run higher.

Swimmers run at 8 to 10 as do sprinters.

For those interested the healthy range for an adult male is 15 to 18% Females 23 to 28%

Well Lance might as well be an Olympic long distance runner cos he isnt a footballer.

Are you going to tell me that is you were going to be a footballer... youd choose Lances body, mobility and lifestyle habits??

also are you fair dinkum going to say that Lance is meticulous at preparing himself to be an elite footballer???

What are you saying aout lifestyle habits? Be more specific about that.

If I could be Carlton's tenth (or is it nineth??) highest goal scorer of all time I'd be very happy. :D :D

Given that he has so much going against him it is suprising he has done as well as he has isn't it?

Fat, slow, eats pies and still gets 16 possessions a week. Gives hope to the everyman.

You should be happy to be anything apart from who you are....
lifestyle habits is like ummmmm... when say YOU have nothingness going on and need me to just get involved on TC cos you cant contribute anything off your own bat.. (For example)

Another lifestyle habit is like me treating you with complete contempt... over and over again....

That Eddie the Eel gives hope to everyman too... doesnt mean he is elite...

16 kicks means nothing... bet Clarke doubles that if he plays again...

Synbad, you're the biggest tool in the world. That's not a personal attack. It's a fact. Page 375 of the Guiness Book of Records. You can be seen from the moon, with one eye shut, facing the wrong way. You're the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th wonders of the world you're that big a tool.

Not a personal attack. Fact.

Children! Behave!

Or you'll be straight to bed with no TV and miss the Carlton game this Sunday.

(Mmm... actually, that may not be a punishment.)
