Swann said yesterday the Blues had no specific development coaches this year but would expand their football department next year.

"It will be pretty similar (to Collingwood's academy)," he said. "I think the model that works is that you recruit them through a good network of recruiting and when you get them to your club you develop them as quickly as you can.

"That needs to be a specific job. What happens is once the season starts the coaches concentrate on the week-to-week and sometimes the development gets left behind, so you need someone who all day, every day is thinking about developing your players."
