And add to that no player is incapable of winning a game all by his lonesome, unless said player contests the ball in the centre square himself, feeds the ball out to himself and then passes the ball lace out to himself.
And then kicks the goal himself!
He does not win a game off his own flowering boot and that is why he and his indulgent suporters need to realise that.
Well said DUC. Saying Fev wins the game off his own boot is not recognising the efforts of the half forwards, the midfielders, the ruck, the flankers, the wingers, the half backs and the backs who bust their guts at each contest to deliver the ball to him.
It is JUST this kind of "it's all about me" mentality with Fev that is stuffing the club up. And it just makes sense that it is his blinded supporters who are using this "wining the game off his own boot" excuse to justify his actions and why he should stay at the club.
Look at the bigger picture and you will see things a lot clearer and make a more informed decision. Fev ALONE will not deliver CFC a 17th premiership cup. However, if he can commit to the club, he may just be a PART of the TEAM that delivers the 17th cup.
I harken back to the good old days of the late 70's/early 80's when we didn't actually HAVE a key forward to go to and a lot of our goals were kicked by the Mosquito Fleet of quick on-ballers.
I am sure this would happen again (and would have happened in the past 5 years had Fevola been sacked prior to Pagan's tenure beginning).
Even when Sticks was strutting around kicking goals we still had a strong midfield and half-forward line (ie. other options) who were kicking goals so I don't for one believe that we need to have a key forward like Fevola (as West Coast have proved last year) in order to kick a big score. In fact, it is probaby better if we DON'T so that the game plan is not as predictable as it has been for 5 years
