Completely irrational, I know, but McKenna brings some tasty bonus features:

1. He's called Bluey. FFS, how good is that?
2. We'd be taking something away from collingwood... something they want to keep. Maybe for our next trick we could poach Eddie as our Vice President... walking two paces behind, and just to the left of, Pratt whenever they're out in public.

"Bluey Mckenna" does have a good ring to it :)

I heard his interview with the Aints was not up to scratch

Then if he is good, he would have learnt from that and be a better candidate for the experience. Still an excellent candidate for us.

You beauty. Bluey has had time to figure out how to paper over any weaknesses when he is interviewed. That's wonderful news for us

Paper over them or fix them? All about perspective isn't it?

Presenting better in an interview doesn't equal being better at the job.

But maybe the ability to put together some pretty powerpoint presentations will help him when he's coaching.

Maybe his ability to answer a question with a sarcastic question won them over

Again it depends how you want to look at it. Yes by all means work on his interview techniques but as I said, if he is any good, areas that were his downfall could be addressed, both in the interview situation and his whole approach to coaching. "Pretty powerpoint presentations " should be irrelevant.

Can't say too much on Ross Lyon as i don't reaal know much about him.

One thing i can say is i have never seen anyone at a press conference who looked like they were suffering from depression more than RL.....

Accordinfg to Pssst in todays Age Pratt has said:

"Pagan is the coach of Carlton until the football subcommittee decides otherwise"

"I won't interfere - whenever that is"

"I agreed right at the beginning I'll stay out of it. I've given Sticks' my word"

"There is no reason why we we should sack him. He's done a pretty good job. I can't see anyone doing it any better given the circumstances. But it's up to them. I'll have nothing to do with it."

He also emphatically denied that the Blues had already spoken to potential replacements.

He also said that he had promised Sticks from the outset he would not interfere in football matters and that Kernahan and the clubs football administration would make the decision

The next article in Pssst says that Guy McKenna is the latest name to emerge as a candidate for the Blues role should it become available :!:

There is more spin here than we get from S. K Warne

If the above is true then Sticks is "The Man"

I hope Pratt is not serious when he says that pagan has done a good job. Surely a man of his caliber does not think this. Surely Surely not.........

No mate, he has fulfilled his end of the bargain, off field is going gang busters, having said that, this is after all a football club, and until we fix the on-field stuff, it will really mean nothing.

Even if we were the richest highest membership club in the world, it makes no difference if we are still in the bottom three.

I smell a false dawn.

I think Pratt realises that we don't have the cattle to do any more than what we have.

As the off field stuff improves we will too, and the stars will align when the time is right.

That being when the stand is well on the way and our top youngsters have had a few pre seasons under their belts and are starting to control the on groung side of things.... :P

I think Brizzy's on the money when he says that for appearances sake, Pagan won't be 'sacked'... it'll be a mutually-agreed decision to part ways. To my mind, what Pratt is saying is wholly in accordance with this.

There is no way on God's earth that Pagan will be the senior coach next season, regardless of what sort of face-saving spin Pratt is putting on it right now.

In six months, Pratt has single-handedly turn the financial fortunes of our club around. With our finances in order comes greater football department resources which should flow onto on-field performance. But to expect this to reflect onfield at this point in time is unrealistic.

We're appointing two development coaches for the kids... scouring Ireland as we speak for the next Kennealy/Begley/Clarke... taking back control of our VFL team... etc...etc...

Pratt representing a false dawn? Probably the most pessimistic thing I've read on here... cheer up verbs. The day won't be too far away when you can get yourself along to the scg to see a win.
