Popular with the kids, popular with the members, popular even with the coach...... but not as popular with all parts of the Carlton playing group.

Don't be lulled into thinking he is popular with all the members.
There is a core group of high-profile supporters who are sick to death of him and have been for years.

There are a core group of supporters who would have delisted him after game one in 1999.

Pack of numbskulls, but they are still there.

The club appears to be positioning well to trade Fevola at seasons end, there is virtually no chance of him playing on in the navy blue jumper in 2008. I would be gobsmacked if Judd was not the primary player target and possibly Worsfold the coaching target, that would cover losing a 'popular' player me thinks. Would still prefer Roos though, I think he is easily the best coach in the league. And I'm sure Fevola is the first casualty of the new Carlton, there are a couple of others (one in particular) who will be feeling nervous - I'm looking forward to the captaincy announcement this week.

The numbskulls would have been right on the money in '99 and disgusted with the bad timing of Pagan's appointment.

Tell me, what has Fevola's last 5 years done for the CLUB? Sweet FA.
Has done a lot for Fevola's image and reputation - both positively and negatively - but the Club is pretty much where it was years ago when Pagan blindly decided to build a list around him.
Feathering his own nest is all Fevola has been about and the Club is certainly worse off for it.

Thanks Denis.

hmmm,

Let me see, delist a player after only one game or have a player on your list that is an All Australian player and a Coleman Medalist and available for trade.

hmmmm, which .... is. ..... the .... better .....scenario

very hard to pick, but I would hazard a guesss that the NUMBSKULLS who wanted Fevola delisted after one game WOULD LOSE!!!

Spot on Chyna, Fevola is selfish and is only interested in furthering his image, like his Footy Show apprearance. And he's not the only one at Carlton that's more interesting in themselves.

BTW, the NUMBSKULLS would be right, as we haven't won a premiership in that time yet we've collected our first 3 wooden spoons. This is a team game when I last checked.

Perhaps I should have added the NUMBSKULLS are also wrong for the annebriated. And yes Fev has always been in it for himself, that can't be disputed. He had a chance to further his leadership ambitions and unfortunately he failed miserably when he needed to step up.

We largely have Fev to blame for those 10 wins in 2004 that set the club back so far so let's get rid of him ASAP. Hopefully we can trade him for the players we missed out on like Delidio & Franklin.

So explain to me how delisting a guy after 1999 who then went on to become the best full forward in Australia and a HUGE ASSET for the club is better?

There are only two options, either we have the best full-forward in the league or massive trade bait.

For those who would have delisted him at the end of 1999 we would have NOTHING.

The storm is gathering momentum.

Fevola is likely to return via the Bullants.

'He hopes to return for the clash against Sydney at the SCG on Sunday, but he may have to return via VFL side Northern Bullants on Saturday.'

more stupidity here with Gary Lyon's article.

Most of it is common sense and what has been discussed for weeks on this forum, but I had to laugh at this sentence (well i didn't laugh - i groaned actually)

this is regarding a possible trade for Fev.

"Carlton should be happy with a first and second round choice"

That is a fair trade?

Is this guy off his banana?

Fev is a match winner - only trade possible is a match winner for a match winner. Pavlich or Judd - that is it.

No trades for young kids that take 3 plus years to develop and might be no better than a number 5-10 pick of previous years- such as a Jordan Russell (who is ok but no match winner)

Some people need to take off the rose coloured glasses. Fev has played only one season in his whole career with the consistency of a Pavlich or a Judd. Fev has potential and we have all seen it but he has nowhere near the consistency of a top liner. There is too much of a gap between his good performances and his poor performances.

Others need to put the rose coloured glasses on. Don't you think the difference between his good and sometimes bad are more a reflection of the team he plays in? For you to say he has only played one season in his whole career is completely underselling him. He has averaged 3.17 goals per game in his last 95 games. Once you factor in the fact that he played on half a leg for most of his 19 games in 2005 and then look at our ladder positions over that period I think you begin to realise how good he has been. Throw him in a decent side and he'll be the difference between top 8 and a flag. Now what do you think a flag is worth to clubs we'd potentially be dealing in a trade with?

Lyon is saying Fev is worth a round 1 draft pick and a round 2 draft pick.

Is he taking the mickey?

Ok if that was in 2004 (for example) we would have got

either John Meesen? who the hell is he - pick 8 for Adelaide
Chris Egan or Jordan Russell - pick 9 and 10

and then a second round draft pick thrown in for good measure

we would have got
Ryan Willits
Tom MUrphy
Matt Little
or
Pat Garner

Mmmmm. me thinks Fev. is better value somehow.

Coleman Medalists don't grow on trees.

Youre right Coleman Medallists dont grow on trees, especially ones with ADD. Right now his actual value doesnt compare to his potential value due to the fact that he is a child in a mans body!!! He will never be the player that we all know that he could be!!!
