There is no way in hell Denis would pick a side without a ruckman.
He values then more than any coach in the league for mine.
He's recycled more rucks than Al Gore.
i.e IMHO He is just turning up on match day to collect his coin.

I agree Game boy. I was astounded we would go up against White without a recognized ruckman.

Setanta should have played on Welsh and Ackland should have rucked without a doubt. Sure he's not the best ruckman, but he provides a contest that would have meant we came close to breaking even in hitouts.

We were kidding ourselves to think SO could do the job.

Who will play on Leuenberger this week, Russell????

We need to bring in Hampson AND Ackland to go against berger.

Leuenberger had 4 hit outs. I'd back Setanta against him at this stage if Leuenberger plays against us.

You wait, Mordan, he'll have 36 hitouts, 4 goals and 13 marks against us to win a NAB nomination - mark my words. If we're going to go in so blatantly undermanned in the ruck department, at least play Hampson for 40% game time so he can see where he needs to be next year and beyond.

This week was all about drawing a line in the sand to the players. Hopefully Fev and Ackland can pull the finger out and have a crack.

To say that this disgrace "provides a contest" means you ain't been watching the footy much this year IMHO. That effort against Hawthorn where he baulked at contesting the centre bounce was a joke. Ants reserves until he finds a backbone I reckon.

Ackland is an average VFL ruckmen....

He does not represent the jumper. Meeting the man, he IMO is a ignorant person who has little time for supporters, in that, I mean children.

His attitude sucks to be honest.

Ackland is shit.

 May not have been intelligent or educated but it clearly & concisely summed up how most of us are feeling exsing!!!

I'd rather see Jacobs or Hampson in. At least they will provide a contest, something I'm yet to see Ackland do yet. And they will play with some sort of heart, something I'm yet to see Ackland display yet.

One thing that will stick with me for as long as he is at the club that summed him up to a tee was after the game against Adelaide when we battled hard all day only to lose in a close game. The players were absolutely shattered walking off the ground & he was laughing his head off with a big smile on his face. It just looked like he couldn't care less but the others were absolutely shattered.

He has been laughing all the way to the bank because our stupid coach and ignorant MC got sucked in by offering him a 3 year deal worth $900,000. What a bunch of fools we have heading our football department when we recruit a guy who has a questionable attitude, and who was twice dropped to the reserves last year.

i'm with the game on this one ...

it's an absolute disgrace that people like myself wanted him dropped to the bullants 2nds and face the ignomy of a 200 point loss!!!!!

can you imagine the despair if the poor bloke had walked out on the club after that ...

We smashed em in the clearances.
We smashed em in the hard ball gets.
We smashed em in the inside 50's
We smashed em in scoring shots.

What would Ackland have contributed?

Our kicking for goal was disgraceful, well done boy's, bye, bye, Denis :-D
