I hope Ackland doesn't play the rest of the season. We had more scoring shots and our fill in ruckmen played great. They may not have won the hitouts, but they kicked more goals, more possessions and gave a crap (pressure and 2nd efforts). If Ackland played we would have lost by more.
The Game, surely is trying to be funny. Evidence to support Ackland?

Dropping Hacland was the start of the new Carlton. That disgrace to the jumper should never play again. The next stages of the plan are:

1. Get the PP
2. Sack Dennis
3. Hire Vossie
4. Trade Whits, Houla and a few others.

Ackland being dropped was a statement. I'm sure he would've done better had he played, but by having to watch us get killed in the ruck today would've given him some sense of perspective. "Wow, I'm more shit than they are"

Ackland took one grab, kicked a goal at the 5 minute mark of the first Qt, then said thats enough for me, i done my job and going back to the seniors now.....

Someone needs to delist him and pay him out whatever is owing....

I sometime wonder, are there any "noin-perfomance" clauses in these contracts?

At least it seems that we can get rid of him after year 2 if he continues like this if what has been postyed is true (that the third year depends on performance criteria).

Carlos did way better than Ackland did today. I watched Ackland in the bullants yesterday and he was struggling. Delist him, pay him out do whatever is needed just get rid of him.

I can't agree; in fact, I can't be sure you're not just stirring.

Ackland has been woeful all year except for a patch of games at Round 8 to 9 where he featured in some spare-man play in our goalscoring ie. nothing contested, just he was free and acted as a link man (I should add that's what his opponent was doing). He was woeful for the Bullants but in terrible conditions.

I don't think he should get a look in based on that game and as I see it we're filling in whilst our #1 ruckman is injured with his groin.

Why should i hang my head in shame? He needs to earn a spot in this team!

10 extra hit-outs and 4 more possesions would not have done anything!

Hope he misses next week too.......................he didn't exactly tear it up at reserve level you know!

I agree Game boy. I was astounded we would go up against White without a recognized ruckman.

Setanta should have played on Welsh and Ackland should have rucked without a doubt. Sure he's not the best ruckman, but he provides a contest that would have meant we came close to breaking even in hitouts.

We were kidding ourselves to think SO could do the job.

Who will play on Leuenberger this week, Russell????

We need to bring in Hampson AND Ackland to go against berger.

Its called tanking guys.

Having said that Carlos played with more heart than that Hack has ever, and although we got pumped in the hit outs, only 18% of the Dees 60 H/O went to advantage.

The message to Hack should be this - you are crap and although we have no recognised ruckman, we still dropped you anyway - no easy rides at Carlton for you!

Leuenberger had 4 hit outs. I'd back Setanta against him at this stage if Leuenberger plays against us.

Ok, this is not going to sound very intelligent nor educated. But I cannot be stuffed.

Ackland is shit. Bloody mistake gettnig him to Carlton. Waste of a bloody pick. Leave him at the Ants until his is bloody good enough for a senior spot. At the moment, he isn't. I'll take Santa anyday over him in the ruck.
