But Board has agreed that Pagan is gone- probably within the week, perhaps will have one more game as coach
Interviewing prospects as we speak--
Should happen really soon regardless because the board want to find the best available as soon as possible

i know theres been rumours etc but this is as close to official as i can get

That rumour made its way to the streets of Rome so it must have some legs
:-D
Cant wait to come back to Melb in a fortnight with a new coach, new direction and new on field fortunes
seems the off field stuff is pretty well sorted, so will be awesome when we are both an on and off field powerhouse again
its happening folks- and we have some great people in some really key posts within the club

:-D :-D Made my day

Does this mean that a full time replacement will be named? Or just that a caretaker coach such as Ratten will take his place until the end of the year?

Pagans instruction were to bomb the ball long to a contest. That just frees up the dees players and allows them to kick easy goals. Our players showed more talent out there, its the lack of direction which costs us..

One of the things which always amazes me is how a select few people who what Pagans instructions were.

My dad, who is a very wise observer of football, made an interesting point after the game today.

He said that at the end of last season, we had serious question marks over many onfield areas, including:

Who would play FB and CHB
What was going to happen in the ruck
Forward set up, including CHF
What kind of game plan we were going to use.

Fourteen rounds into the season, and NONE of those have been answered. We still don't know who our kep backs are going to be going forward, our ruck is a disaster (even allowing for the promise Setanta is showing), we don't have a CHF, and our game plan simply WILL NOT be the game plan that will take us into finals football.

We have gone nowhere this season, save for improvement in a handful of players, which would be expected even if we didn't have a coach.

Damning.

He has to go Winfield

Maybe the Blues have picked out the 2008 Coach have heard rumours to the affect and i guess they where hopeful of running Pagan to the end but after today he has to go

If we put in a caretaker now say to him play the kids give em gametime.
Put players in correct position and make the last 8 rounds to answer questions on the kids. I dont really know what Half our kids are really like as they get so little oppertunity and when given a chance they spend most of it on the Pine.

Last 8 rounds put in a caretaker instruct to play kids, make sure the caretaker (prob would be Ratten) talks with Mitch and puts in game time with our key kids giving them proper game time and responsibility.

At end of Season if we havnt already signed up a potential coach we then undertake key interviews and we get that done straight after round 22

But this stain of a coach Pagan must be gone this week.

Pagan goes and and Ratten will be caretaker.

There will be controversy as he goes...

Ratten spoke very well indeed on 3AW today. impressive candidate. after hearing what I did, he is as good as Voss if not better because of his coaching experience. Vis may have greater future potential though..

I would be happy with either as the new young coach I have spoken of since 2002..

I dont doubt that story at all about the players hating Dennis and hanging out until he is sacked.

Dont think we will get a priority pick in 2007. but pick 2 obviously looks likely..

The new young coach will hasten slowly, but you will see a transformation of our young side and finals football within 2 seasons..

I don't get why there'd be an interview process for a caretaker coach. One of the assistants would be just fine in that role.

And surely we wouldn't rush the appointment of the coach for next year. That would have to be the most careful decision ever made by this club.

Paul Littman was sitting in front of TrueBlueBrad and I at the players sponsors seats. I was watching him closely reading a text message then he got up and left not to come back. My theory at the time was the Dick had called in the troops for the special meeting. Might of been right.

A dank dull and stale aura will be replaced with one that is bright, new and positive.

Pagan has had his day, which actually ended a couple of years ago - but sometimes for various reasons, there are things that hang around beyond their expiry date and go sour.

This souring can be very damaging and affects others in sometimes very bad ways - Our young players are well aware of this and are coping.
