Well it must be true.
All your other rumours have been on the money.
You said Thornton and Fisher were definitely gone..
You told us Bower was gone back to WA.
You said SOS was joining Pagan at Carlton.
Mitchell was gone last year.

All spot on! Not.

There are going to be some inclusions to the football department.

Denis and Stephen Icke are currently interviewing for 3 various positions that have been desperately wanting for a long time.

Why would Denis be sourcing out a particular bloke to get down to the club if he is gone.

Voss has a team ready to go, including fitness and training staff, why would the club appoint anyone from now.

Unless Pratt lands a Matthews, Malthouse or Roos there will be no change in with the couch.

3 certainties in life..Death, taxes, and Denis not coaching Carlton next year.

So are you banking on Denis getting us to 10 wins then Melvey?

Cause that's the figure Pratt has put on us for this year. Good luck Den Den, sounds like you'll have plenty of new staff to go with you to wherever you coach next year 8)

I was just wondering who this Melvey is.

Thanks for clearing that for us BV (and for protecting the naive)

The young guys love Denis
Speak to 2 of the younger (very) guys. They will tell you otherwise. But then , yes, some do warm to him.

I dont want Ratts to get the job. I want a non carlton man.

Thank God. I think all the couches at the club are very comfortable, functional, and the players like sitting on them, and it would be a real waste of money changing them.

The coach on the other hand......... Now that's a different matter.........

Hi all, this is my first time on TC, congrats the site looks great!
Something just doesnt seem right with this coaching circus we have at the moment.
It just makes so much sense to terminate DP now and install Ratts in to a caretaker role while we go through the whole process of finding the right man for the job, which might/could be Ratts.
What is Dick Pratt up to?
I am sure he has the matter in hand, it is just very hard to sit back and wait for the outcome.
IMO Dick must already have someone else maybe Voss i am not sure.
He simply is not the type of pres to let this Garbage continue without a plan!
Just hurry up already Dick
BTW just after a quick look around i noticed Flower used a bit
is this a special word?
also if anyone has any tips for me feel free to tell me

2 stories I remember from Ratts testimonial.

First from Brittain that every Monday, he'd get a knock on the door and in would walk Ratten to discuss the previous weekends game. What he would do differently and what tactics worked and didnt work. I think he flagged himself as a potential coach then.
second story may have been from Parko but I can't remember. Basically at every stoppage you would invariably find Brown and Ratten at the bottom scrapping for the ball. It was a matter of pride and one-up manship t be the player that hands the ball to the ump. ie they always wrestled for the ball even after the umpire blew for a ball up. They would not only wrsetle the opposition for thee ball, but each other. Both hated to lose.

The guy would be a fantastic coach, no doubt

On that basis Fraser Brown should be our next coach. He very rarely lost the wrestle to hand the ball back to the umpire :-D

If we appoint Ratts caretaker coach for the rest of the season he either coaches next season or we've lost him to the club.

If he doesn't coach us next season I'd rather he go away and coach at Melbourne or Fremantle, gain some experience as a senior coach and be ready to come back to us in 5-10 years when whoever we appoint for next season is done here.

Good luck whatever you do Ratts!

How has he proven himself? Where is the evidence to suggest that he can coach? Isn't he part of the coaching team right now? Something doesnt add up here, dont hire him just because he is a legend of the club.

True. Yet some believe Voss will be a good coach. :?

Ratten has been an assistant at 2 clubs now. He has shown a willingness to learn and prepare himself.
I'd select a panel to interview all the likely candidates and pick the best potential coach.
Not the best ex player.

I dont believe Voss is ready. Then again, who does?

Voss

Welcome to TC, Edge. Somebody normally does it and this time it looks like I get the privilege.
I am not sure we need to terminate Pagan. Maybe just sack him would be a big enough message
The word, 'flower' is used to replace the other 'f' word, which is not used on TC unless you are happy to be suspended from the site for a while. Personally I don't use it but maybe I am saving it up for a particularly frustrating time.

As much as I love and respect Rats I think an appointment such as Michael Voss would have supporters more enthusiastic and optimistic. Many people are sceptical but my gut instinct tells me let's do it. Voss will grow with the job and with a good support network I predict big things for this club in years to come.

Well, seeing as he's the owner of a global and multimillion dollar recycling entity, I'm sure he's got something planned for this "garbage".

not quite, you can type in the "f" word but the system automagically replaces it.

automagically

/aw-toh-maj'i-klee/ adv. Automatically, but in a way that, for some reason (typically because it is too complicated, or too ugly, or perhaps even too trivial), the speaker doesn't feel like explaining to you.
