Not sure I should post this here, might make for a plethora of messy keyboards around the globe, but this off the AFL website is a pretty strong endorsement of Voss as coach....

wow, that's a terrific article from Black

3 quotes for me...
Quote:
It was midway through the 2003 season and despite having won two flags we were going through a rough trot.

He got up in front of the entire playing group and told us he didn’t think he could trust us any more. Trust us to put our head over the ball. Trust us to keep running when we were tired. And trust us to cover for each other.

It was a real eye-opener. Our mate, our captain, was telling us we were taking short cuts.

The next week we had guys going out trying to prove themselves to the captain and we got back that absolute commitment to the team cause. For me it was the turning point of our year and played a massive role in the third flag that followed.

[quote]As a captain he would always challenge his teammates, and he’d do the same as a coach.

He’d encourage and inspire because got that attitude of “the world won’t end tomorrowâ€

We need Voss!

Voss has the X factor in spades...a leader of men.

That is exectly what our great club needs.

Great article. One key component for me and that was "trust". I see a lack of trust right through the playing group and especially with the coaching at the moment - the Pagan/Mitchell fiasco is a case in point.

Back to the most important aspect in all this - we must go through a thorough process to select Pagan's replacement. If Voss comes through this and is the best man for the job, great. We want the best, not necessarily the best available.

The longer Pagan remains in the job the greater the risk of irreparable damage being done to our club. For God's sake Dick and Greg get it done. Do not waste another minute. Get Voss.

I hate to say this every week, but...

If we get flogged by Melbourne he would have to resign.

Wouldn't he?

I guess he doesn't care anyway

Why do we have to wait for him to resign. The guys on $600K a year why would he resign. We should have the balls to remove him. End of story. It's ridiculous that it is taking this long. No loss seems big enough anymore. It's getting beyond a joke.

Had enough of Pagan

Remove this stain for the Blues Club now

The old days the Blues would remove a coach for missing the 8

Then they would remove a coach for bringing the Blues down to bottom 4 finishes for sustained periods of 1 or 2 seasons.

We then sacked Britain for bringing the Blues to there first Wooden spoon

Pagans Record 2003 - 15th / 2004 - 11th / 2005 - 16th / 2006 - 16th / 2007 - 15th or 16th

Pagan delivers 2 spoons a 15th in 4 years and looks to add another spoon or 2nd last for his 5th year.

And like Elliot in 2002 appointing Pagan as coach - last move by Collo before he left was to extend Pagan in 2005 for another 3 years

@#$%&! this guy off now and bring some respect and pride back into the blues

This clown is killing this club

And while he is at it he can take I dont give a stuff about the Blues (Mitchell) with him

He won't be. Voss is a lock-in already for next year so Pagan will see the season out. If Ratten was to coach you'd imagine he's be already coaching by now to see how he goes. They won't use Ratten in a caretaker role as they don't want a Roos/Wallace situation. I must admit I actually preferred Ratten, given he's had an apprenticeship, and I personally wouldn't worry about a caretaker situation, but I'm still happy with Voss.

I was talking to my boss today, and two things he said stuck out to me.

1) He's an Adelaide supporter, and is convinced Fev will end up there next year
2) If we get Voss we'll be playing finals in less than 2 years guaranteed

I don't necessarily believe him on either point, but he seemed pretty confident.
